Ico Team Hiring For Third Project

Sony has revealed that a third game from the makers of Ico is in development.

An update on the Sony website offers a listing [http://www.scei.co.jp/synthesis/career/wanda.html] of new jobs for Team Ico in association with a new title in development by the team for the PlayStation 3. Along with these new career opportunites, the site's artwork has changed from old concept sketches [http://www.flickr.com/photos/teamicogamers/1532352004/in/set-72157601921333038/] to a vague screenshot of a chain laying on the ground and leading into a small hole.

One avid Ico fan has translated [http://www.schreibenmalta.com/tig/synthesis/synthesis.htm] the images used on the Team Ico career page to reveal the qualifications required for the various positions. Team Ico is seeking planners, animators, artists, effects designers, game programmers and technology development engineers. Director and Lead Designer Fumito Ueda seems to be looking for both analytical and creative minds to place in the planning department, as he asks for both an original game concept and an essay on the state of videogame development in the past five years from applicants.

I pray to God these guys go cross-platform and get the opportunity to expand their horizons even further. Terrifically great people making excellent games.

Hah! I bet some Escapist writers could even apply to that! ;)

That's kind of like saying they should make Halo cross platform. Sure, it would be nice, but it won't happen. The team is owned by Sony and there isn't much hope they'll put their game on a competing platform. I personally can't wait to see what these guys come up with next, their last two games were some of my all time favourites.
