Rumor: Road Rash to Return

Skid Row's Sebastian Bach potentially revealed plans for the newest incarnation of Road Rash in a decade.

Skid Row frontman and VH1 regular Sebastian Bach may have unveiled the return of classic EA franchise Road Rash before the publisher could officially announce it.

During an interview with the Classic Metal Show, Bach discussed his new tour and that one of the band's new singles would be included in a game. "Another clean vocal song is 'You Don't Understand,' which is the second song on the record, which I totally specifically went for the clean vocal sound, but it is a super heavy song. That just got picked up for some video game- Road Rage, or Road Rash, or something like that."

Electronic Arts responded to Kotaku [http://kotaku.com/361476/road-rash-returns-sounds-like-it], "Though CEO John Riccitiello has recently mentioned it as a classic, beloved EA franchise, Road Rash is not currently in development."

I just bought EA replay for the PSP because it included Road Rash only to find out that they stripped out the original soundtrack in favor of a single song. Talk about jumping shark. EA probably did not want to have to pay royalties for the music. @#$%@#$%^#$

Wow... I had forgotten about the existence of Road Rash until I read this post. Then I remembered how much I loved that game. It was so fast and crazy, with the bats and the chains and the kicking! Oh my, I'd love to see a next gen release.

It would amaze me if someone at EA had not mentioned wanting to remake Road Rash, its a true classic.

It was so obviously lacking in several areas, yet so awesome. Given to someone who knows racing this could become a modern classic : )

Wait... Sebastian Bach? : D His school years must've been hell ~~

They've been talking about doing a sequel to Road Rash for almost as long as they talked about doing a fourth Indiana Jones. I think EA just likes to pour salt in the wounds from time to time of everyone who remembers how fun this game was. But still...holy cow, a RR next-gen sequel!
