Mass Effect Delayed

Mass Effect [http://www.bioware.com]will be delayed - but only briefly.

On BioWare's Mass Effect forum [http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=625304&forum=125], Community Coordinator Chris Priestly wrote, "I have just confirmed with the development team that we are making a small change to the release date of Mass Effect for the PC. We had previously announced May 6, 2008 for North America. The new release date for North America is May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 in Europe."

The delay is the result of a decision by BioWare and co-developer Demiurge Studios [http://www.demiurgestudios.com/] to incorporate additional play-testing feedback, allowing for extra polish and tuning of the new features in the PC version of the game.

"BioWare and EA [http://www.ea.com]are dedicated to excellence. We're confident that the extra time will be reflected in the final PC experience that we deliver to our fans," Priestly wrote. "We appreciate your understanding and look forward to delivering a great game!"

Originally released in late 2007 as an Metacritic [http://www.xbox.com]. The PC version of the game will be optimized to include high-resolution graphics, fully customizable controls, an improved inventory interface and functionality and a recently-announced new tactical HUD which will give players access to Individual Squad Command, Biotics powers and Abilities and Weapons command interfaces all on a single screen.

I don't mind waiting a little bit longer for this supposedly kick-ass sci-fi grandmasterpiece. I DO mind that the word 'exclusive' has lost all meaning, as I was this close to squandering money I didn't have on a piece of gaming machinery that I didn't need. All for this game.
I'm pretty happy as a PCgamer now, thankyouverymuch.

It always was coming to PC, we knew this from the get go.

Completed it twice on 360, will be buying this!

Well exclusivity has indeed changed meaning quite a bit, but most folks generally don't count the 360/PC relationship against the term, due in no small part to how similar programming for the 360 is to PC development.

It's a good game, and I'd definitely recommend it to any PC users that didn't get the experience on the console. Although, you have to be willing to put in a bunch of time running errands and climbing mountains in a Warthog look-alike to get to all the good stuff.

I have a review of this game on this website. I'll let that review speak for itself. The delay sucks, but at least it's only a minor delay.

I don't want to sound like a bit of a prick here but HA! That's what you get for always standing on us thinking that you're the money! Console tards rise up from the ashes and slay our oppressers.

As Mass Effect was the only reason I wanted (needed) to buy a 360... now I don't have to buy a 360! Sweet! ;-)
