Is it just me, or has this game's graphics improved since the early shots? I am so looking forward to this game, and have in fact asked for a 360 as a graduation present simply because this game is being released on it. Have you played 3? If so, would you say the combat has gotten more fluid?

Haven't played previous iterations, so I can't speak to that, but what I played today was like butter.

Does anyone know if this game will be available on the Xbox 360? If so, I might give this game a try, as I've heard good things about the Star Ocean series.

*smacks self in the face* D'oh. Sorry about that. That'll teach me to pay more attention to previous posts.

It's currently been announced only on the 360. It's not spelled out as an exclusive though, so there's no telling exactly where it'll end up over time.

I know; Lvl 64 Klutz told me.

So how much do we know about this game?

I don't know much, it's either a prequel to the entire series or takes place

After the Earth was destroyed in 3

What I've heard so far is pretty vague. I just hope they bring back the invention system with improvements.

If it's a prequel, I'll be happy, as I probably won't have to play all the other games just to get the backstory.

Also, what has the Star Ocean series been known for? Hours and hours of gameplay, good combat, e.t.c.? Basically, what can I expect from this game?

Both, really. SO3 took me 30+ hours to complete totally, and it is a genuinely immersive experience, easily overtaking what I had with FF12.

30, really? Before I lost my memory card, I had built up 300+ hours, and had most party members around lvl 175, 80 hours of which was the main game.

By 'complete totally' I meant finish the main story. I didn't really like grinding, because of the lack of variation in enemies in the countryside, but it was still pretty decent.

Oooh, nice. I like long games, even if it takes a 100+ hours. Why? Because it makes me feel that I've gotten the most out of my game. (And my purchase. :p)
