New Mass Effect Patch On The Way

Mass Effect [http://www.bioware.com] is on the way that will address many of the lingering concerns and complaints expressed by the fan community.

"We have been watching the different Mass Effect PC forum communities and gathering your feedback on issues encountered while playing Mass Effect PC," BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly wrote on the Mass Effect forums [http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=666035&forum=125]. "Thank you all for taking the time to provide feedback to help us make Mass Effect PC a better game."

"BioWare is pleased to announce there will be a new patch for Mass Effect for the PC coming soon," he continued. "This patch will be jointly developed by BioWare and Demiurge [http://www.demiurgestudios.com/] and will be available for all versions of Mass Effect PC (retail, Steam and other digital distribution sources)."

Mass Effect was released for the take full advantage [http://www.xbox.com] of the PC platform, with high-resolution textures, customizable controls, an improved inventory interface and more. Bioware released a patch for the game in July 2008, but apparently isn't ready to walk away from it just yet.

Unfortunately, no details about what the patch will fix or when it will be available were released. "When we have more information on the content of the patch or when it will be available, we will let you know," Priestly wrote. We'll keep our eyes open.

Hooray! It is a buggy game, and it really could use another patch. It's no S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but it isn't all that stable.

Patch Notes 1.07
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to user feedback, the time for all elevator rides has been increased! We are very excited to make this change, as it's something that we've been wanting to do, but were unsure about.
Luckily, so many people enjoyed the elevators, it has become a viable option to lengthen them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sad thing is, I can actually see them doing this.

Yes! I got a little pissed when I noticed I couldn't have a romance with Tali. Too bad I'm not a PC gamer..
The worst and only bug I cared about in the 360 version was one that forced me into deleting my save file. I was stuck in an elevator and when I tried to go back up, the loading screen wouldn't amount to anything. Best part was that I saved inside the elevator and the autosave was also in the elevator. Never doing that again.. The time it sometimes take for an elevator really didn't bother me at all. Everyone else seems to rage about it though.
Oh well, I'll just have to keep salivating for Mass Effect 2 then.

Sweet baby Jesus, there is a God after all! Great timing, too. I just reinstalled my copy this week after getting into a story discussion with some people on the forums. It's a great game and I'm running it on a pretty good system, but now and again there are random crashes. I just hope that the patch takes care of that.

I hope your okay with the two of you taking a pledge of abstinence, because you would end up killing her if you tried anything. Thanks to being confined to the Flotilla for so many generations the average Quarian has a next-to-nonexistent immune system. That's why Tali is in an environmental suit the entire game. In fact, she probably wears it while she's on the Flotilla.

You had better be happy with holding hands for long stretches of time, buddy.

This works out really well for me, too. I just picked up Mass Effect and started playing a few days ago. It's been quite solid for me, not a single crash so far, but I am having some minor sound issues - I have Realtek onboard audio, and based on what I've read on the Mass Effect forums, the game has some serious problems with that hardware.

I haven't encountered a single issue with mine, although, I should probably start playing the DLC content instead of still trying to get more female characters to that particular damnable non interactive sex scene with the blue alien while playing Eiffel 65 - Blue in the background -cough-. But "oh well", better than nothing for some.

That's weird, it would never let me save in the elevator. And I agree, load times weren't that bad. At least they kept them interesting with news stories and conversations.

Weird is one of the first words I used, yeah. Then I got angry. I guess it was just about to open the doors and considered I wasn't actually in the elevator. Oh yeah, they did indeed. Interesting interaction between the characters you brought with you, and even several side-quests only from news. Everyone should take this method to heart. Makes it feel very real.
