The Best Motion Capture Session Ever

As the release of Rainbow Studios [http://www.deadlycreaturesgame.com/] has released a video of the "scorpion motion capture," a danger-fraught session that demonstrates just how far they're willing to go to make the best bug-based action adventure game the world has ever seen. (It's also really funny.)

Curious about how the developers of Deadly Creatures were able to render scorpion animations so realistically? It turns out that getting a scorpion into motion-capture gear is a tricky proposition, but what's bad for Rainbow Studios (and a poor team member named Jordan) is good, and hilarious, for us.

Okay, so it's not exactly "real." It's still the funniest thing you're likely to see all day. And you can't tell me you're not even a little bit curious about a scorpion in a mo-cap suit.

Check it out here [http://www.deadlycreaturesgame.com/?l=trailers&t=dc_mocap_final_720p_640_360_Hi.flv].

Not bad.

I still think Bizarre Creation's mo-cap feature for Geometry Wars 2 was better, though. ;)

Deadly Creatures actually doesn't look half bad. I won't pay full price for it, but if I find it reduced in half a year or so I'll give it a try.

Aww. I wanted them to mo-cap a real one!
I don't think you notice the scorpion part of it, scorpion's tend to be...you know deadly. Not to mention how much of a ***** it'd be top put the mo-cap things on it and not get stung, still the animation is cool.
Can't you just put it to sleep or something like that?

The video was still really funny.

they should of gotten a professional handler of scorpions.(I.E. someone with no fear and probably kicks sand off land-mines for fun)
Somebody like Steve Irwin? Oh wait...

I don't own a Wii but this looks like a nice, original concept. It may not be the greatest game, but I'm glad to hear about a game that decided on a new concept.

I live in Australia For those of you who don't know in Australia the vast majority of snakes,(well not really snakes) Scorpions, Jelly fish and basically anything else is either scary, poisonous or both. (Usually both) In Canada (Where you are from) I doubt you have that problem.
Dude, they have bears in Canada, which are just as dangerous as your outback critters but also adorable. A much deadlier combo! °~°
So cut off the QQ!!!1
(j/k, glad to live where I live, although I have a viscious housecat at home.)

.. Now I wanna see a bear in a mocap suit tearing poor Jordan apart.
Well maybe for the sequel Far superior huge predators with fur.
