New Console Witcher Screenshots

The update enthusiasts at CD Projekt have released new screens for their console-bound remake of The Witcher.

Welcome to the bizarro gaming world, where console gamers get upgraded versions of PC titles. Today we focus on The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf, the updated console version of the million-selling 2007 PC RPG.

Joking aside, The Witcher always felt like a good fit for consoles as the number-crunching commonly found in RPGs was pretty much absent. Rise of the White Wolf is being built from scratch, ditching the modified version of Bioware's Aurora engine used in the PC version, and Atari has released some new screenshots to show us exactly how good it's going to look.

A gallery of the new screenshots can be found here [http://uk.media.xbox360.ign.com/media/143/14302856/imgs_1.html], along with some older ones as well. The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf is due out in the Autumn.

Looks good. Hope they don't dumb it down somehow though.
Dear god I do, the combat at least, it was terrible on the PC.

Anything to change the game would be a good thing in my eyes!

Curiously, I've yet to spot a single difference from the PC version in the screens. Not that this is a bad thing, since otherwise I'd have to get jealous and all about the consoles getting a better version of the game.

Never paid it much attention when it came out on PC. I might check it out when it comes down in price.

They released two versions on the PC. The regular, uber buggy one then the Enhanced Edition.. slightly less buggy with extras. Now ANOTHER one for consoles? Talk about "Milking for all it's worth".

The Enhanced Edition is free if you bought the original, so 'milking' is really kind of an odd way to look at it.

Yeah but after playing the original why would you want to subject yourself to the "enhanced" edition.

At least console gamers get to play a good western RPG from a different developer other than Bioware or Bestheda.

Edit: The Enhanced Edition for PC is available as a patch update for those who own the original one, with the extra content I believe.

Meh, being a PC fanboy, I should be pissed that the unwashed console tards are getting what used to be a PC exclusive game, but on second thought, the consoles can have this disaster of an RPG.

I love the feeling of superiority I get when I talk about consoles. It feels almost like being cuddled.
