Street Fighter Art Exhibition Announced

To celebrate the iconic two-decade-old Street Fighter franchise, Capcom has announced "Jab|Strong|Fierce," an art exhibition tribute to the Shoryuken.

Yeah, apparently there's Gallery Nucleus [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/5767-Review-Street-Fighter-IV] to put on an art exhibit that glorifies all things Street Fighter. Udon is on board, too - perhaps best known to the SF community for their work on the official comic series.

It makes sense, really. Okay, I might be biased, since I've been playing the hell out of SF4 since it came out and am a long-time fan of the series, but there aren't really as many video-game franchises that have had the cultural impact of Street Fighter. It's been around for more than two decades, it effectively set the mold for the fighting game as we know it today, it's had movies, TV shows, the list goes on and on and on. So you could certainly pick less-deserving series to do an art exhibit on.

Judging by the official announcement [http://www.gallerynucleus.com/gallery/exhibition/183], it won't just be showing off pretty pictures, either. The opening event, on April 25th, will feature - among other things - a cosplay competition and a Street Fighter IV tournament. So if you're going to be around Alhambra, California from April 25th to May 11th, you might want to stop by, since it should be pretty awesome!

Speaking of SF4 tournaments, how about those behinds thoroughly whooped [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Keane+Ng], eh?
