Haven't played the full game yet but I tried the demo about a year ago. I'm surprised he railed on the visuals so much, I really like the art style.

Yeah, I honestly loved the visual style of the game. It has a very hand drawn, gritty comic feel, and it also animates very smoothly as you are playing. It also has some of the most responsive overall controls that I really ever recall playing on a side scroller. There's relatively few animations that will break the flow of the action.

I will say that while I enjoy the Ninja Gaiden games, I found them universally frustrating, and the walls you run into for the fights in that series are much more insurmountable then the ones in this game. Especially when in the Dishwasher you can replay earlier levels for more upgrades to your health/magic/weapons (and weapon upgrades are significant), or even buy healing items (which help a lot until you can finish an enemy for more health).

I haven't gone through the second half of the game yet, but I've found that even the difficult parts are enjoyable to me as I figure out different ways to approach the fights. As there's not too many enemies that you can't handle with a combination of teleport dodging and using combos/throws. Usually what gets me are when there's too many enemies on screen and the ones I'm not fighting are shooting me. :(

i really liked this game it had i nice not to short not to long main story so you don't get bored of it to quickly but still had a long arcade mode incase you want to play more

i also thought it had a rather good story to it.

I played the demo and loved it!

For some strange reason, it reminds me of Braid...God knows why

The games called "The Dishwasher", strange and misleading a title as i've ever heard.
The guy who made it was working as a - take a guess - when he came up with the concept for the game.

Don't ya love how people with knowledge and potential always end up in such crappy menial jobs?

I played this back when the XNA system was in trial. It was far and away the best user-created title available then.

Not sure if the 'full release' demo is different at all, but I was impressed. That said, I've played enough controller throwing beat-em-ups so I'll probably pass on the purchase.

I'm just curious.... why do all game reviewers feel the need to rip on a game if a major website does so.

This game is definitely just as polished as you would expect from an XBLA title.

If you enjoy 2D beatemups.... this game is perfect for you. It is fun, and stylish. I'm sick of all these unfair reviews.

Ready for "primetime"??? God the pretentiousness is just ridiculous. This game has a great feel to it, but it seems "professional" game reviewers, and I stress the quotation marks, are too afraid to form their own opinions.
