Massive Layoffs Rumored at GRIN

GRIN [http://www.bioniccommando.com/] has reportedly laid off over 100 employees and is rumored to be closing its operations in Gothenburg and Barcelona.

There's been no confirmation at this point but Kotaku [http://kotaku.com/5271661/rumor-mass-layoffs-hit-bionic-commando-developer-grin] says "multiple sources" have reported on the cuts. The company will apparently be eliminating nearly 30 employees from headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, while the closure of its offices in Gothenburg, Sweden and Barcelona, Spain, will run the total layoffs to 100-160 people.

Released this month, GRIN's Bionic Commando earned mixed reviews, praised as a "highly entertaining action game" by PlayStation 3 [http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/bionic_commando/review.html] and PC platforms.

At this point it's all a rumor but as Kotaku noted, with this many sources saying the same thing it doesn't look good. We've dropped a line to GRIN seeking confirmation and will update when we have news.

Well Terminator was ok but really short. It can finished it in two hours and that's not good if you're expected to pay a full price for it so thanks but no thanks. You can get online in every other game on the market.
I don't have an opinion about Wanted because I tend to avoid games that are based on movies because they usually s*ck and are made just so they can milk people that liked the movie.

It's sad to hear if it's true; they put out one of my favorite games of all time "Ballistics" for the PC; I've never found a game like it that was nearly as fun. Though with the past handful of releases it's not much of a surprise since they were quite lacking in overall quality.

Wanted was pretty good... or so I thought. I also liked the movie too, minus the Loom of Fate.

They make okay games but not good enough. And when you throw all your development juice into three titles and them fuck them up...well...

Just the way the business goes. Smaller developers can't absorb the losses of a flop.
