Bethesda Shooter Goes Musical

Bethesda's upcoming shooter Wet gets all tuneful with its new trailer.

[gametrailers= 53684]

The secret of good marketing - in my eyes at least - is to make people remember your product, a secret that Bethesda know rather well, as this new viral trailer for Wet proves.

Bethesda describe Wet as a "highly-stylized third person shooter ... featuring an ironic mix of humor and violence" and stars Dollhouse actress Eliza Dushku as protagonist Rubi Malone.

I'll warn you now though, five men sing in this video and you'll wish that four of them didn't. Hell, half of them don't even have convincing accents.

I am speechless.
That was awful singing, but it definitely got me interested in this game.
Quite funny, mainly because of the humorous lyrics of the song and the singing. Bravo Bethesda! + 1 internet cookie.

I lul'd, although it doesn't make me want this game any more.

It's a breath of fresh advertising after all this EA Inferno BS.

Sorry to say this, but you were beaten to it. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.128344]

Anyway, it's a good advert which I'll remember for a while, especially since I got a good laugh from some of the lyrics. Hopefully they'll decide to give it to us PC gamers.

haha, I didn't really pay this game much mind until now. I mean with this much care in an ad, I'm starting to expect much from the game.

Anybody else think they should have sung a different song?

Was that a good idea?

Wow, an actual advertisement that tries to be different and doesn't end up pissing me off, amazing.

I would not have noticed it if it wasn't on the front page, I rarely use the escapist forums anymore.

I think that there should be actual musical games, not just trailers.

And no, rhythm games and games based on bands don't count. I mean straight up broadway style. I'd totally play a game based on Little Shop of Horrors.

P.S. Thanks

Now that was a good and interesting ad.

Also on the singing note, the overweight guy was the only one whose voice was odd, but they were all on pitch and perfectly adequate.

Magic, pure magic. Also I think they all sang badly on purpose. After all henchmen are hardly renoun for their singing talents. Also Bethesda could easily have hired actors who could sing.

Still, it made it more realistic and I loved it. 5 stars.
