PAX 2009 Exhibitor List Revealed

The organizers behind the 2009 iteration of Seattle's Penny Arcade Expo have unveiled the convention's official exhibitor list.

Almost all the big names in gaming are scheduled to appear at the show, including Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, EA, Ubisoft and BioWare.

Specifically regarding those latter two firms, this morning's announcement claims PAX 2009 will include the "first live US demonstration of LucasArts' Star Wars: The Old Republic," as well as "demonstrations of Ubisoft's hottest titles, including Assassin's Creed II and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction."

The official release is certainly great news for the show's attendees, but we have to think its even better news for PAX creators Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins (aka Gabe and Tycho). What started less than a decade ago as a way for the duo to create a convention by and for gamers has become one of the industry's biggest annual events.

If this was a John Hughes movie, this would be like Ducky throwing a party attended by John Bender, Charlie Sheen and Duran Duran.

Yeah, Bioware had it posted on their site [http://swtor.com] for SW: ToR that the demo would be playable. I can't wait... just under a month left!

Was I the only one that finds it odd that Jones Soda is going to be there?

Probably. Jones Soda is based in Seattle.

I'm quite looking forward to going now! Well, I was already but now more so. :)

Yay! I'll get some in game footage of TOR...
Actually, it's "The first public demo"

Whether that means a floor demo or them playing it at their conference I'm not sure.

If you pre-register, it's only $50 USD for all three days, man.

I'll see you there, then. :D

I just don't understand why Jones is footing money to have an appearance at a gaming convention. I mean, yeah, we love sugary treats and all, but still... seems a bit superfluous, really.

Man I wish I could go. But alas it's too far and too much money for me (travel and room+ticket). I need something closer to home. Isn't Blizzcon in San Francisco?

Yeah, but I live in Alaska and itd cost anywhere from 500 to a grand to travel there.

Actually, Vivaldi is getting one together. So far though, we've only got six people.
