Register Your PSP Go, Get Gran Turismo For Free

Planning to buy a PSP Go at launch? Make sure you register the handheld with Sony by October 10 for a free copy of Gran Turismo PSP.

Crucial details from Sony's Gamescom 2009 press conference [http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/08/18/live-from-gamescom-scee-press-conference/]:

To celebrate the launch of PSP Go, people who register their Gos between the 1st and the 10th of October will get a free digital copy of GT PSP.

Keep in mind, the copy of Gran Turismo PSP in question is almost certainly a digital download. Since the PSP Go has evolved beyond the mortal trappings of the UMD drive, it wouldn't make any sense for Sony to ship hard copies of the game.

Now the only question is this: With Gran Turismo PSP being such an immense game (some reports say it includes more than 500 heavily detailed cars) with graphics that rival the series' gorgeous PlayStation 2 entries, just how immense is the download going to be?

Even with broadband, you have to imagine a number of PSP Go purchasers are going to be miffed that their new toy is asking them to spend a few hours twiddling their thumbs and praying to St. Comcast of Ann Harbor, the patron saint of faster download speeds.

Ooooooo, I'm getting a PSP Go, that's for sure, but I'm debating whether to get it soon after launch or later on. This, coupled with Rock Band Unplugged bundle, may tip me over more to buying it sooner.

A digital download? I prefer to have a hard copy just in case...
Then the PSP Go probably isn't for you.
Probably not... But it depends entirely on the catalogue of release games. If they've got any Zingers, I may give it a good looking into.

I do love this with Sony. When I bought my PSP I got a free copy of Spiderman 2, when I bought my PS3 I got Casino Royale on Blu-ray.

well at least this somewhat justifies the PSPgo's price tag in a way. I'll just end up buying my hard copy anyways, my 2000 model is still alive and kicking, I'll buy a go when it benefits me more. Still mad at Sony for changing over the memory stick micro's instead of staying with pro duo's, ya jerks making my memory sticks incomparable...

Because downloading something that just under 2 gigs isn't that time consuming. Maybe if you did it over wifi it would be, but it's always better just to connect to your computer and use mediago. I mean seriously...2 gigs doesn't take that long.

This kind of takes the piss, as I'm paying £24.99 for a pre-order of it on my PSP 3000...

At least then I have a hard copy I suppose, and a better PSP. >_<

I don't pray to St. Comcast, I worship St. Insight, who always delivers my digital goods within minutes! Hello 10meg download speeds!

That is a pretty good deal, I am thinking of getting either a PSP-2000/3000 used (and cheap) or do you guys think I should go for the Go?

I'm not a racing game fan, but hopefully Sony has more deals like this sprinkled through out the PSP Go's life cycle.

I'd love a digital copy of FF Tactics: WotL. That would drive me to purchase in a heartbeat.

I mentioned this in the other thread but it seems Sony wisened up that they may need to add incentive to the Go to go with he price tag.

Free GTP? Rock Band Unplugged bundled in! thats two games lets say they are $50 each? thats $100 of value there so thats a good deal. Well played Sony.
2 games at an $80 value essentially eliminates the heightened price of the Go and brings it down to PSP3000's price tag. It is indeed a well played strategy by Sony since if one were buying a PSP they would obviously buy some games for it and end up spending the Go's price anyways. All quite a clever marketing ploy.

Yeah, now I'm getting one. I was in two minds but now Im sure.
Plus Im a Sony fanboy and I like being able to actively support them by giving them cash and raising their console sales by 1.

They should really start paying me soon though, recently Im like a walking Sony advertisement.
