Rockstar Giving Away Year's Supply of Pizza

Rockstar's taking the cake for silly but generous promotions by teaming up with Pizza Hut to give away roughly a year's supply of pizza for topping leaderboards in Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Now here's an outrageous promotion that I can get behind. Rockstar's partnering with pizza pie chain Pizza Hut to give away $600 worth of Pizza Mia gift cards. To win what could ultimately amount to (this is if you don't eat pizza three meals a day) a year's supply of weekly pizza, all you have to do is play Midnight Club: Los Angeles and be really good at it. Is that so hard?

Here's how it works: players download the new Midnight Club map pack, then compete in the fitting but ridiculously named "South Central Pizza Hut Showdown." Top the leaderboards and you've got yourself enough pizza to last you a year if you ration it out or maybe a couple months if you want to throw a massive pizza party every couple days. It's up to you, really.

Keep in mind you're only going to be winning gift cards for a specific pizza: The Pizza Mia is Pizza Hut's recession pizza - it's a medium sized pie with fewer toppings on it than your average pizza designed for tight budgets. So, you're not going to be swimming in the fluffy dough and tangy sauce, but hey, one less meal to have to worry about means more money you can save up for the impending apocalypse, or maybe for a DSi. I do wish it were Papa John's and not Pizza Hut, though. That garlic sauce is heart-stoppingly delectable.

Registration is going on now and lasts until April 13. For complete rules and info, head here [http://www.rockstargames.com/socialclub/events].

I do love me some recession food.

Anyways, this is a fine way to advertise. It probably won't get that many people to buy the expansion who weren't already going to get it, but it will give the expansion more exposure, which is fine.

My only question is when do you have to be at the top, (simply top the boards or be first at a certain date?) because otherwise the very first person to upload thier score will get a/the gift card.

For some reason, I laughed out loud on the 'apocalypse, or maybe for a DSi.' line. Thanks for brightening up my morning Keane.

I like Pizza Hut's stuffed crust pizza, but Little Caesar's is cheap and good.
Little Caesar's also leaves their pizzas in in a warm oven like thing, which means bacteria forms on the pizza.

although free pizza for a year would be nice i wouldnt be able to get THAT good in time to win.

The bacteria adds flavor.

Anyway, man, I miss the Little Caesar's that used to be in North Pole and Fairbanks, they all got replaced by the "Great Alaskan Pizza Company"....

As for the OP, I loved the Midnight Club games, especially three...until my save file went belly up.

Wow, I would pretty much be set for when I go back to college in the fall.

And Pizza Hut was the best option we had in town before they moved out for some reason I never quite got, now the two biggest chain pizza places we have are Greco and Pizza Delight, and all the rest are just one-off local jobs.

I wish all games had a physical prize for the leaderboards.
Not that I ever stay on them long.
Theres only so long you can stay in the Top 10 against people who play 24/7.

Ugh, that much pizza over the course of a year will do terrible things to whomever consumes them, unless you share it with a lot of people. Not that it differs too terribly much from the atrocious eating habits of most humans, not to mention most gamers.

Pizza Hut? Urk. That stuff's awful. I prefer Little Caesar's (my local LC turns their pizza over so fast that bacteria don't get time to proliferate) for cheapo chow and a mom-and-pop in town run by actual displaced New Yorkers that serves the best pizza I've ever had west of the Adirondacks if I'm willing to spend a few extra bucks. Pizza Hut manages to be greasy in a bad way thanks to their cooking method that basically amounts to "pan-fried pizza". The crust is WAY too thick, like they were going for Chicago style but got it wrong.

Humourous, though a waste really. What would you DO with all that pizza?

I like that game, but I'll never be able to top any leaderboard, closest I've come was being 250th in the world at one of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts challenges. And I was knocked down quite a few pegs later on...
