Power Wheels Modder Creates Mini-Warthog

Ask any kid and they'll tell you: Accurately recreating violent videogames is hard work! Luckily, one loving father took it upon himself to make Halo's Warthog a reality, at least for his tiny offspring.

A devotee of the "Modified Power Wheels" dot com forums -- did you even know that was a thing? -- user "flux83" built the whole thing out of, well, honestly it's kind of complicated. There was a Power Wheels 2001 G3740 Street Scene Silverado involved at one point, but then he started chopping things apart and spraying Bondo everywhere, and ... if you're interesting in the details, have a look at the forum post where he explains it all [http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12115].

The end result is what we're all about, and the result of all this minor mechanical alteration is a vehicle that both looks a lot like Halo's most famous vehicle and functions as a car (assuming you're about three feet tall) [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEJ4cJxop3c&feature=player_embedded#at=12]. I would have liked to have seen more modification on the turret (read: kids need to shoot stuff too), but otherwise expect your kids to read this and suddenly realize you are very much not the coolest father on the planet.

I'd like to see someone make an actual Mongoose, and not for the youngins. I'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard, either.

He should put a nerf vulcan on the turret, then spray it metallic.
If I was an adult midget I'd be all over this thing.

If you don't think you'd miss your shins, then we can have that arranged.

OT:Now all we need is for him to make a Scorpion......For kids!

Hell, I want a Banshee, Wraith, Phantom and a Spirit. My own personal Covenant fleet... Maybe he could spend a few years and try to make a full (several kilometre long) cruiser, like the Spirit of Fire or something. I would pay good money to see something like that :D

Now he needs to build one for adults. Then he can get rich.
Been there, done that. There are actually plenty of examples of real, working Warthog like rides out there. This is, I think, one of the best examples:
Both are awesome toys, one for kids, one for us grown-ups, but boys will always be boys.

When I have kids, my goal is to do something this cool for them. Even if I enjoy it more than they do.
