Dragon Age DLC Return to Ostagar Delayed

Return to Ostagar, the downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Pc/dp/B001IK1BWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1278970552&sr=1-1] that was scheduled for release today, has been delayed.

Announced in November [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/96229-BioWare-Reveals-Return-to-Ostagar-DLC-for-Dragon-Age-Origins], Return to Ostagar will take players back to the battlefield where King Cailan of Ferelden fell to the Darkspawn and the Grey Wardens' "darkest hour" began. The DLC was expected to be released today but gamers looking forward to more Dragon Age woke up to a somewhat less pleasant surprise instead.

"We're sorry but the planned Return to Ostagar downloadable content scheduled to launch on January 5th has been delayed for all platforms," BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly wrote on the Dragon Age forums [http://social.bioware.com/forum/Dragon-Age-Origins/Dragon-Age-Origins-General-Discussion-NO-SPOILERS-ALLOWED/Return-to-Ostagar-Delayed-541856-1.html]. "We will update you as new information becomes available."

That "new information" remains undisclosed at this point, so exactly why the DLC has been delayed or when we can expect to see it released remains unknown. We've asked BioWare [http://www.bioware.com] to fill us in and in the meantime, we're keeping our eyes open and our fingers crossed. Hopefully this delay won't be a long one.

Actually I'm fine with that, I wouldn't get to play it for at least another four days due to computer and moving and stuff. Hopefully it comes out with plenty of advance to ME2 though.

this wasn't exactly some epic dlc i had been looking forward to for months, why visit ostagar again when they created something as epic as both the dwarven and the human city, but i'm still saddened by this, and confused, as i understood it was a 1-2 hour dlc in a mainly already created area, and to quote a wise man

There's a 100+ page thread of complaints and spam on the BioWare Social forum.

Most of us are not annoyed it got delayed, we're annoyed about the lack of communication. For those who don't know, on the 4th there was a post from a BioWare guy saying basically "You're really gonna enjoy RtO when it comes out tomorrow", but a few hours later the delay was announced with no reasoning given.

Common thoughts are bugs should have been fixed by now, BioWare's PR sucks bawls, and a lot to do with bacon, oddly.

Really, I don't understand the delay, they announced it in november, surely it must be done by now, because ostagar is in the original game, so all you really need to do is put the bad guys and maybe some treasure chests along with characters in there? First it was the holiday season, then January 5th, and now delayed, so far bioware is great at games, but shit at dlc.

Perhaps returning to Ostagar is a different area? They did say that we'd be looting the King's armor, which means that we likely will be heading down to the battlefront and to other places we've not visited before. Places which need to be designed and bugtested and stuffs.
