Get Your PAX East Badges Sooner Rather Than Later

Planning on hitting up PAX East in Boston this March? You might want to get your badges now-ish, as the official site warns in no uncertain terms that they will sell out.

Here's a bit of a Public Service Announcement for all of you gamers out there on the East Coast of the USA: If you want to go to the first super-major videogame convention here on the Atlantic Seaboard - that's the Penny Arcade Expo East, of course - then you should purchase your badges now. A blog post on the official site [http://www.paxsite.com/paxeast/index.php] warns as such, in no uncertain terms:

[blockquote]FACT. We will sell out of badges for PAX East Coast 2010.

If you want to go to the show, now is the time to register. Much like PAX Prime, based on what we're seeing on pre-registration numbers there will be NO BADGES AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. I don't like to use all caps, but I felt me being rude for a minute there was worth trying to avoid some very angry people at the door in March.

We'll have details on the keynote and more in a few weeks![/blockquote]

So yes, there's really no way around that. There won't be any badges at the door; pick yours up now or forever regret your choice to hold off and wait.

Besides, I have it on good authority that a perplexingly high percentage of your beloved Escapist News & Editorial staff will be there, and you want to meet us, right? Of course you do.

PAX East will be held in the in Bahstahn (that's "Boston" as written with a horribly fake Boston accent), Massachusetts, from March 26th to March 28th '10.

You didn't complete the last tag

Does it have to be in Boston?

Last time I went there I swore I would never go back, because I would never want to deal with people there ever again.

Ah well, I trust The Escapist will have video's of the event for those who won't go?

Aww, come on. We're fun. I mean, it depends on what you're doing with who and where in Boston, but that's true of any city in the world.

Anyway, got my tickets/badge last month when they still had the pre-order discount on, because I can't not go to something like that when it's basically down the street from me.

I think it'd be spelled out more like 'Bwah-stn' with the W in there. Like... "Go wauk the dwahg." But then they skip over the other O. At least the Boston accent isn't as bad as the Rhode Island accent. Down there, it's basically the same thing only they're required to speak 50% louder and with more 'obnoxious douchebag' ladled into their voice.

Ahem. Anywho!

I'm going for my Birthday...and I'm insanely excited. It'll be my first convention, so OMFG can't wait. FWEEEEE. If you go, look for me dressed as a (female) HL2 Rebel. YES I'm one of those crazy people in costume, but I'm decidedly going with something that's easy to deal with yet still full of geek. Only trouble is if someone shows up as Gordon I'm probably going to have to follow him around for a while. >.>

Hells yeah! I've had my tickets for a couple of months, and I'm glad I have.

The Escapist should have a panel! Seriously, someone at the Escapist, apply for a panel!!! I would be there for sure. Maybe you could even have a poll/suggestions thread for what topic will be discussed. That would be awesome, and could even be a video segment on the site. I'm being completely serious, please make this happen!!!

For a brief moment my brain had a wondreful spark of retardation. PAX is going to be at Boston, oh my God... oh wait, the other Boston. Probably just as well.

2004 ALCS? I joke, though, since I know Boston does have an...attitude, and many Massachusetts natives don't want to go there either, but in the grand scheme of things Boston is a large gaming community hub and it's not New York City which is really fucking crowded and thus a logistical nightmare. Mostly the first part though makes it an ideal candidate for PAX East, plus this is the first year anyway so if it doesn't work then they can change it
