Instant Replays Coming to the PSP

UK soccer fans will have a way to stream game statistics, different camera angles, and replays directly to their PSP or PSPgo, thanks to an agreement between Sony and the Arsenal Football Club.

The Arsenal TV Matchday application streams over the WiFi from the stadium and gives fans access to a host of information and editorials as well as visual replays, even allowing them to vote for their "man of the match" within the application. It is priced at a flat £10 fee for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season.

Use of the application is only available while attending live games at the Emirates Stadium in London.

"No one would deny that the live experience is the ultimate way to watch sport. What this new service offers is an even more immersive experience for fans," Sony Professional Head of Sports and Business Mark Grinyer said.

Upon purchasing the application, fans will be able to immediately link up to the wifi stream and gain access to all the listed features. While the application will initially only be available in Emirates Stadium, Sony has stated a desire to expand the service to other venues.

The technology used in the application has been in the works for over two years. Sony has made use of a number of fans and focus groups with the intent to release it to a wide audience. While there are no announcements of any plan to bring this service to the United States, if it does well enough in the UK it will probably make its way over within the next few years.

You might want to see a winning kick from a different angle. Imagine being able to tell the ladies that you've got like a Jumbotron IN YOUR PANTS. Think this is a brilliant move, I hope it catches on.

sounds like a good way to get your ps3 stolen, or at least broken

Though I see the appeal, like a more in depth programme, that you only have to pay for once, and replays to boot.
