Microsoft to Show Full Natal Lineup at E3 2010

The big mystery surrounding the kinds of games Microsoft will launch with Natal may be solved by the time summer rolls around.

Microsoft's Project Natal sounds great in theory, but very few official games have been announced for the device other than Fable III [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95631-Natal-Confirmed-for-Fable-3-In-Game-Shop-Also-Planned] and a Pong-Dodgeball game that appears to be a pack-in. This year at E3, the world will see many more according to Mindy Mount, Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division.

She revealed the information while speaking at the Jefferies Annual Global Technology Conference in New York City today. Talking about the quality of future Natal games, Mount said: "You'll be able to see more news about that this summer at E3. We'll show you the full lineup." "Full lineup" is a pretty clear term, implying that Microsoft won't be showing off a game or two, but a nice selection of titles.

Mount also hyped the lineup, as expected. "We have very strong first and third-party developer support for [Natal]. Needless to say, we're putting some of our best people on coming up with great game ideas for this, and we're going to have some great stuff." Here we have a Microsoft executive reporting that the Natal launch lineup will be great, so take that as you will. She says Microsoft "announced [Natal] as early as last summer so that we'd have time to get kits out and get the entire game developer community developing games for it," and reportedly around 70% of the world's videogame publishers are currently working on Natal games. There have to be a few good ones in that bunch.

E3 2010 takes place from June 15-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I'll personally be satisfied by the reveal of a Natal game similar to Sports Catch, a game I invented where you have a catch using various sports balls. Or, Wall Bounce, where you bounce a ball against a wall. Don't think it won't happen.

All the fun of an eye-toy with all the limited potential of an eye-toy! How revolutionary!

Needless to say, I am not on the edge of my seat for Natal.

But... I don't want Natal games to take over E3. I want real games... Personally, I don't think this is a good idea, and even though they said that they wouldn't be abandoning real gamers, I don't believe it.

Well shiver me timbers, there are more games than Milo and Fable 3? I think its clear that all major brands (Halo, Call of Duty) will keep away from the Natal, apart from Peter Molyneux, who is bat shit crazy

Wait. Isn't Natal supposed to be a code name? What will it actually be called? Natal is a creepy name.

Yesterday I knew a couple of the guys that developed this (I'm brazilian). They said they weren't too happy that it froze up when they first showed it to public. Natal is a city in the northeastern part of the country.

I'm interested to see what this can do, however I doubt it will be revolutionary.

Guess it'll be like the wii, a few good games for every shitload of bad ones, with Fable beeing the Zelda of natals lineup.

Did also read an article the other day from this site where it was sortof clear that natal was priamrily gonna be casual games liek the wii.

This is the make or break for me.

As of now, im not liking it. They have shown NO reason whatsoever as to why this will be anything more than crap. All the trailers are just of $10 an hour families playing cheap minigames, and people talking to that stupid kid. That might seem neat. But id rather talk to an actual person than some computer.

IF the list is half decent then ill give it a chance. Then it will all fall on its ability to actually work well in the games.

Im not getting exited.

While not a fun of motion control in the least, I'm quite eager to see what MS has to show. First, I want to see that they aren't ruining games and series I already like by replacing good, solid precise controls with motion. Second, I do want to see if any of the motion control games they do come up with actually look good AND are not minigame compilations... I'm not sure if this is possible, to be honest, but I would love to be proven wrong.

The problem with Natal (and maybe even Sony's motion controls) is that they're fighting the Wii, and the Wii sold because no one knew how good or bad motion controls would be, just that it was Nintendo bringing out something new. With Wii's successful selling, MS and Sony both thought "we can sell like Nintendo" and jumped onto the wagon of motion control. I think Natal is a big waste of time and will send MS down the shitter. Sony's got a strong line up and solid fan base, and with Natal, I think they'll get a lot more exclusivity back from MS, and I think that if anyone can keep the games more hardcore, it would be Sony

As I've mentioned many time before, I see Nintendo, who's been around longer than anyone for a reason, jump back to the block and stick routine, get some more 3rd parties to help them, buff up graphics and everything, and dominate the next gen.

Natal will fail, I don't see anything good for gaming coming from Natal besides a wasted E3 for MS fans and a WHOLE lot of controversy on gaming and the "evil it causes in our kids" or some bullshit like that

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I seriously doubt they would be saying "the line up is going to suck, I mena eventualy someone might do something interesting with it but for now.... oh look at this, you can make waves in water, isnt that neat? doesnt that just sell you on this?"

I will only be pleased when it will contain a brawler. Natal needs a brawler, it's made for it!

I mean, what's better after a hard days work when your boss is annoying to load up that game, create an adversary in the image of your boss (or teacher, or anyone) and beat the ever-loving shit out of him/her.

I swear, it'll be the best selling game of all time. Work place violence, school shootings, suicides and other violent rampages will all drop like a brick, it'd be the perfect stress reliever!

Well, it will be nice to see what we have to look forward to at least.

Ill wait and see what kind of games we are looking at before I make a decision in my head about Natal and if I will write it off or not...

Part of me wants it to be good, somewhat, I want to be dissapointed on this just becaue it would atually mean it has some potential in it and there is actually more tan just a new mini-game machine
