Could Rock Band Be Adding Japanese Rock Bands?
Evidence suggests that Harmonix may be adding J-Rock performers like Gackt and L'Arc~en~Ciel to upcoming Rock Band DLC.
Years ago, Harmonix announced that it would be working on Rock Band: Japan, a veritable celebration of the long, storied, and really weird J-Rock scene. Flash forward two years, and the project seems dead in the water: We're probably not getting Rock Band: Japan, says Harmonix's PR manager Nick Drake.
But that doesn't mean you won't ever get to get your Gackt on in J-Rock Revolution [http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=65099], which polled its members to find out what acts they'd like to see in hypothetical DLC. The results?

Is this a good thing? Are they talented acts? The only ones I've heard of on that list are Gackt and L'Arc~en~Ciel, and that's because the former is Japan's equivalent to Michael Jackson at the height of his popularity, and I think the latter was in the first Ouendan.
I can't say I'd get a J-Rock DLC package myself, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would. Especially the ones who live in Japan.
