Well that's pretty interesting.
I wonder how many people are going to OD on ritalin and prozac in the coming months though...
The mouse thing is fairly interesting, but the mojoceratops easily trumps it, and then waves its silly 80's bone-do at it.
As for the "noise" idea, I'm not all that interested unless it's going to make my life worse, which it probably isn't, considering it's what has been going on in my head my whole life.
Do they know if our brains would function better without the noise though?
Do they know what causes the noise?

That's amazing. I didn't know our brains could process so much information. I'm always interested in finding out how drugs affect our brain as well. There's a reason we react the way we do when we're under influences like drugs and alchohol.

That first article kind of makes me wonder how much "better" the brain could be if it was tuned. That "noise" almost seems analogous to useless processes going on in a computer. Like perhaps everyone has a virus or some spyware running in their brain.

My brain isn't noisy, I use water cooling.

The drugs thing just goes to show that drugs are bad, even if they come in nice white boxes and the pills have pretty logos in them. Medicine for people with real problems keep being used by people who can't endure the dregs of being human. Me, I tend to only take aspirin if I'm seriously in pain.

A coworker of mine suggested we give 10 cokeheads Prozac and Ritalin, and 10 cokeheads cocaine, lock them in a room, and see who's alive at the end. It's kind of like double-blind study meets Thunderdome.
