Grunty The Murloc Marine: Blizzcon 2009's Exclusive Pet

Meet Grunty, the World of Warcraft in-game pet offered exclusively to those who attend Blizzcon 2009 or witness the event on DirecTV.

Longtime World of Warcraft gamers already know that the annual Blizzcon event offers the most interesting, rare, and bizarre in-game pets available, and the 2009 edition is no exception.

As StarCraft fans will notice, not only is Grunty a member of World of Warcraft's adorably omnipresent Murloc race, he's also wearing an immaculate set of Terran power armor.

"This tiny terror is fully armored and comes equipped with a gauss rifle, which he'll occasionally fire into the air to make sure no invisible spacecraft are swooping in to attack," reads Blizzard's official reveal [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml#agbeahbetent].

The Blizzard nerd in me is also hoping Grunty will take occasional potshots at other players' pet zerglings [http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=13582#Screenshots], but that much fanservice would probably cause painful priapism in WoW fans.

I predict someone will make a killing selling one of these on Ebay.

Actually, I think the resell on these on ebay will be lower due to the fact that you can order the online stream of the event and still get the pet.

Awww youve gotta love how blizzard put characters from its others franchises as pets in WoW also the idea of the murloc marine taking potshots at pet zerglings is a brilliant nod to starcraft
