Mario Made Into Faithful Musical

What are the characters from Super Mario Bros. really thinking about their constantly repeating predicaments? A DC-area musical explores this question with song.

I thought that Mario [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102414-NYC-Play-Uses-Videogame-Graphics-and-Music] game.

The well-written production was named best musical at the 2010 DC Fringe Festival, where its website [http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/30/mario-musical-super-claudio-bros-jumps-on-dc/], such as "Game Over" and "Player Number 2," are funny, exploring what surviving characters might be thinking when Mario dies and has no continues, or how Luigi feels being eternally stuck as player 2.

Claudio brothers Luis and Claudio live in the Eggplant Kingdom and their arch-nemesis is a homicidal purple platypus named Bruiser. Bruiser kidnaps Princess Tangerine once again to start the show off, and it follows the inner thoughts of the Claudio Bros. and Tangerine's sister Princess Fish as they set out on yet another rescue mission. Co-writer Drew Fornarola told Joystiq he wanted to explore: "What do [the Mario characters] love and hate? What do they worry about? What happened that made them the way they are?"

Jokes are made that refer to the Mario games, such as the first castle never actually housing the real princess. Possibly due to mainstream knowledge of Mario and his games, even non-gamers have been giving Super Claudio Bros. good reviews. Sadly, you may never see it if you don't act fast, as the last shows currently scheduled are for tonight and tomorrow only (tickets available here [http://www.theatermania.com/washington-dc/shows/super-claudio-bros_171012/]). Hopefully it'll continue and make it to more cities.

Wow! that's awesome. I won't be able to see it anytime soon but I'm sure it will continue if it is really great cause it will inspire them or someone to do more shows.

Princess Fish?

I would not mind seeing it! It sounds kind of horrible though... Like Superman the Musical.

Is this a prank? This sounds like a prank. Am I going to get rickrolled if I follow that link for the soundtrack?
lol that didn't occur to me, but then I was like "oh yeahhh last time I heard about something like this it was that Portal nonsense"

songs are good? oh well, guess it's a humorous tribute rather than satire lol

Nope, it's genuine. And the songs are pretty good, too.

Hoping that since it seems to be doing well (sold out shows and such), it'll get additional performances and eventually will come to a theater I'll be better able to watch it at.
