You are not wrong about Batman vs Superman being dark, I watched Man of Steel on Blu Ray and it looked like a badly bootlegged movie from the 80s.

I have... hopes for the Warcraft movie, even knowing video game movies have always bombed. There might be an exception, but I can't remember. So much crap out there.

Wow... I hadn't heard about Green Room, and now my interest is 100% piqued and I am stoked. It looks like an American History X type of film that focuses on the hard hitting realism of parts of the world we tend to ignore and pretend don't exist. Looks like the type of film that goes that extra mile in hard hitting that I usually have to delve into British cinema to see.

The First Tomb Raider and Resident Evil, that's as good as it gets.

On an unrelated note, where's High Rise? That film looks completely demented and just a bit scary.

Hmm. The first RE was good, but I like many others were disappointed that Jill & Chris weren't featured.

...I just realized that BvS is the "beginning" of a cinematic universe, Civil War is the "middle" of a cinematic universe, and Apocalypse is the "end" of a cinematic universe... Trippy...

Other than that, I'm so going to see Keanu no matter what and I'll be sure to pick up Love & Friendship for my grandmother once it out on DVD/Blu-Ray...

Resident Evil, yes, Tomb Raider, no. As far as mainstream VG adaptations go, Mortal Kombat probably belongs in the club, and I'd rank Prince of Persia above all of them. Even if that too was "okay" rather than "good" or "great."

And I suppose that sums it up. I think some VG adaptations have managed to be "okay," but there's never been a truly "great" one. Far as I can tell, only Resident Evil and Prince of Persia have found audiences outside the people who enjoyed the games to begin with (based on how often I see them in circulation). Certainly enjoyed PoP without any game knowledge, and Resident Evil went off and did its own thing. Ugh.
