BlizzCon 2010 Offers Attendees Deathwing Flavored Murloc Pet

Attendees of BlizzCon always get neat murloc-themed World of Warcraft items, and this year Blizzard is expanding them to StarCraft II as well.

Blizzard has announced the in-game World of Warcraft bonus it will foist upon attendees of this year's World of Warcraft: Cataclysm [http://us.blizzard.com/blizzcon/] expansion star Deathwing.

Deathwing is one of the most feared forces in the World of Warcraft universe as the insane leader of the black dragonflight. Blizzard is offering Deathy at BlizzCon, a murloc pet dressed in a Deathwing costume. According to Blizzard, Deathy is "doing his best to strike fear into the hearts of Azeroth's crustacean population," but I can't help wanting to pat him on the head. Bringing him along on a raid might even make Deathwing chuckle long enough to throw a stick in his mouth (the only proven way to stun a dragon).

And did you think StarCraft II [http://www.amazon.com/Starcraft-II-Wings-Liberty-Pc/dp/B000ZKA0J6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1282847533&sr=8-1] supporters would be left in the space dust? Don't be a silly murloc. Blizzard will also be awarding attendees with a "Murloc Marine character portrait and a pair of deep-sea decals to emblazon on your units" for the recently released RTS too. They'll come in Zerg, Protoss, and Terran versions, so nobody gets left behind.

In previous years, Blizzard has awarded those at BlizzCon with a regular old murloc pet, a murloc costume, a mount with riding murloc on the front, and a murloc pet wearing Terran space marine armor. If the murloc isn't the official mascot of World of Warcraft, it's definitely the mascot of BlizzCon. BlizzCon 2010 will run from October 22-23.

When did tickets for this Blizzcon go on sale? Or are they still going to go up? I'm definitely interested in going this year.

I am highly tempted to start going to Blizzcon, getting these pets, and stacking them up as a retirement nest egg.

Iwantone iwantone iwantone.....

But alas, no blizzcon for this one, as going across the country on a college students budget is in no way viable.

The only thing that would get me excited to attend BlizzCon would be real swag that I could hold or touch.

Barring that, a beta key for Diablo III.

For someone who's just not into Warcraft as much, and Starcraft is decent, but not great, I just don't have a lot of reasons to go.

Unless they have some secret stuff they do that doesn't involve any of that.

The tickets are so hard to get, I even signed up to pay for the $500 charity dinner w/tickets and still couldn't get any. At least I still get the pet because I order the virtual ticket like I did last year, it awesome just watching the convention in your living room.

Virtual tix still available? In Australia, so there is absolutely no chance of me going... :(

You have to order them within minutes of them going up for sale, which unfortunately was a few months ago for 2010 BlizzCon. Your best bet at this point would be signing-up for the Direct TV deal that will let you watch the events of BlizzCon (while also giving you a code for the in-game rewards).
