Yeah, most of them suck. Movies made about games, that is. I'm not sure what to think of pyramid head [http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/silenthill/hd/] and the scenery appears to stay pretty true to the games - at least from what I can tell.

I don't know much about Laurie Holden [http://imdb.com/name/nm0304521/].

I could go either way at this point, but hey - they sparked my interest. What do you think? Good/bad?

Well, the director did Brotherhood of the Wolf and Crying Freeman - both well worth seeing, and the writer (well - Avery, anyway) has an equally reputable track record. They *do* seem to have captured the look and feel of the game on the basis of the trailer - I definitely got that "wow - I'm back playing the game" sensation. Plus let's face it......after Doom (doom doom doomy doom doom), things can't get any worse!
All in all, I'm kinda looking forwards to seeing it - cheers for bringing it to my attention!!

Screenwriter Roger Avery teamed up with Quentin Tarentino to draft Pulp Fiction, and he was also responsible for the screen adaptation of Bret Ellis' Rules Of Attraction. If you've got a taste for diseased amoral fever dreams then I'm guessing this film will deliver.
