If you, like me, were a fan of the Sierra adventure games, this might interest you. If you hadn't heard, when it was announced that there would be no new developments in the King's Quest series, fans took it upon themselves to develop a sequel. A good one too, from the way it was shaping up - if you're curious, take a look at the trailer [http://www.adventure-eu.com/index.php?option=com_repository&Itemid=62&cat_id=3&game_id=42&file_id=31]. Of course, being as the license is owned by Vivendi Universal (who owns Sierra these days), you can probably guess what happened. The Cease & Desist shut the project down several months back.

The big surprise is that, after some negotiations, Vivendi has agreed to let development and release of the title continue [http://www.kqix.com/]. Here's to hoping they succeed, and perhaps bring a bit more energy to the ever-fading Adventure genre.

A LOT of people were upset when the website put up that ominous message stating the project had been halted by Vivendi. A virtual lynch mob of KQer's were about ready to virtually lynch Vivendi's virtual CEO in digital effigy form.

Perhaps now the virtual fires will be put out with symbollic sprite water graphics.

Thats a project worth reviewing, anyone have nightmares about Ooga Booga land from episode VII? Those ryhming feral children in the dead treehouse, the boogeyman who'd pop out of the ground. If they put the whole King's Quest series on Gametap I'd have to subscribe.
