Minecraft Recreated in Left 4 Dead 2

You can use Minecraft to build homages to the most advanced modern games - but what if you tried it the other way around?

Now, what if you did that in reverse? While not quite as insanely customizable as Minecraft, Left 4 Dead 2 has spawned Left 4 Dead 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101902-Take-a-Disneyland-Ride-With-This-Left-4-Dead-Map] campaign in the style of Minecraft.

This claustrophobic and mazelike zone is merely the first part of the campaign Louisseize calls "Mines of the Living Dead." According to the creator, the finished campaign will feature four sections, open-world areas and puzzles, and a finale that takes place on a rapidly moving mine cart.

More games need to have mine cart levels these days, I think.

On topic: Nice idea, bad execution: map looks too linear for the zombies to be any real threat. Give me some overworld action, and then we'll talk.

Anyway, this looks fairly interesting... Although, was I the only one who kept thinking "wow, look at all the red stone.

I was groaning. I'd rather diamond! I'm more of the mine-and-explore type, I mostly use redstone for compasses. But I still gotta mine those damn redstone blocks down because otherwise they'll bug me.
