Crackdown is more of a sandbox game, and less of a gangster game. However, I picked it anyway, because I fucking LOVE that game.

OT: I actually voted for The Getaway cause I loved that game but now I think about it definitely Saints Row 2...

So my vote went to GTA, but my vote goes to Saints Row 2.

Other: Saints Row 2. Although now I've read the question fully, I've realised why it isn't one of the options. I picked it because it isn't a dark, depressing-type game... oops.

It honestly astonishes me that you forgot this game. I saw the question and it was the first thing I thought of.

Exact same thing happened to me >.<

Yeah, Saint's Row 2 definitely takes the cake over any of those other series by itself (though Saint's Row 1 wasn't that bad)

Yakuza 2. To me, it epitomizes cool. It's atmosphere is that of a city in which it's Friday night all the time, and there's so much happening at any given moment. I hear Shiina Ringo in my head whenever I walk around in that city and that's far too badass.

I realized it when I learned that after 16 hours of gameplay, I was only in Chapter 10 out of 16, and that after 16 hours of gameplay I'd discovered* a total of 21 out of 120 side missions.

*read DISCOVERED, not FINISHED. I've actually finished only 12 of those after 16 hours.
