Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Launch Trailer Celebrates Tanks-Giving

A war is brewing in Renaissance-era Rome, and Ezio Auditore is going to need help from legendary inventor Leonardo da Vinci to get the job done.

Before the release of last year's excellent Assassin's Creed II, we'd already known that we would be interacting with - and getting cool new gadgets from [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95302-Leonardo-da-Vinci-Creates-New-Ways-to-Stab-in-Assassins-Creed-2] - Leonardo da Vinci in the role of what was essentially a Renaissance-era Q. For all the pre-release promos made a big deal about getting to use da Vinci's flying machine in-game, though, it was used in all of a single mission - briefly.

Judging from the launch trailer for next week's Brotherhood, however, we're going to be playing around with a few more of da Vinci's conceptual war machines - including a particular armored piece of artillery [http://www.lairweb.org.nz/leonardo/armoured.html].

Oh, and there's also some cool stuff about Ezio rallying an army of assassins to break the Borgias' cruel hold on Italy, all the while breaking faces with some wicked-looking assassination techniques. I guess that part of it is pretty nifty, too. Me? I'm still focused on the Renaissance-era tank, because, uh, hello? Renaissance-era tank. What more do you want, a cyborg ninja?

Ah, right [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104990-Amazing-Crossover-Cameo-Infiltrates-Assassins-Creed-Brotherhood].

Check back for our Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood verdict early next week.

I'm going to be all stealth-ified for the next few weeks.

Midnight launch of Brotherhood on Monday, The Sly Collection spinning in my PS3 right now, and I'm playing a stealth character in New Vegas.

Nice trailer. Can't freaking wait to throw spears!

Initial reviews have been as expected - amazing.

I really can't wait for this; I've avoided all previews of it bar the trailers so that it's all fresh.

EDIT: I broke 8000 comments and didn't even notice!

When I first heard about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood i thought it was gonna be a cheap attempt to make more money. Now it looks awesome!

That really does look awesome. And I'm not just talking about that tank-thing.
The whole game seems to be very cool indeed.

Must say, I am really looking forward to this...been replaying the first two games to get me into an assassin mood. I probably went "too far" when I start climbing up the sides of my house to spy on my templar neighbors...those bastards.

i just want more of the platform parts, the ones you did to get the armour, they where by far the best part of the game for me, i hope they will make some more this time, while they where tons of fun they where short and few.

and a tank? i kinda liked the assassination part of the game, the sneaking and planning, if i wanted to drive a tank there are tons of games that does that, maybe not with the skin, but still, in all judging by that trailer it looks a little to action focused.

Nice design on the tank, it seems to be identical to da Vinci's actual design:

As good as the tank is, I dont really think it fits in with the Assassins creed feel. I mean, I see Assassins creed as a game where you use your blades, not shells fired from wooden turtle tanks. It just seems abit ridiculous.

Oh, and don't get me started about the flying machine that fires rockets.

I'm quite excited about this. I'll probably buy it new instead of waiting a year or so for it to become cheaper second hand.

Did they cast Antonio Banderez as Etzio for this? His voice sounds different from the last game, and well....sounds like Antonio Banderez.

This is news? I don't even follow the game that closely and even I knew there was a tank in store.

Have to say the ability to recruit and utilize other assassins (in stealthy ways no less) has me rather interested in the game. But the tank.... Not so much. I suppose it's a bone to throw at the people who can't play an entire game without blowing something up.
