Everyone Wanted Chatroulette and Justin Bieber in 2010

Google has released its Zeitgeist report for 2010, detailing the most-searched for topics in a variety of categories.

You use the internet, right? What did you use Google to look for this year? Each year, Google amasses that information for their Zeitgeist report [http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/zeitgeist2010/]. For 2010, the fastest growing searches in general were "chatroulette," "ipad," and "justin bieber," and the search that's falling off the radar the fastest is "swine flu."

In terms of entertainment, Twilight: Eclipse was the most searched-for trailer, and Call of Duty: Black Ops was its gaming counterpart. Most sought after celebrities included Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, and Gary Coleman was the most investigated death. Healthwise, people are most worried about their hearts, and for Halloween, more people were interested in looking like Snooki than anyone else.

For the first time, Google has compiled their most-searched world topics into a short "Year In Review" video, which doesn't provide a comprehensive overview of the report, but is an interesting way to remind yourself of all the crap that happened this year.

The moral of this story? Chatroulette + Justin Bieber = I'm not touching that answer with a 10 foot pole...

Well at least it's an improvement on the usual porn...
Justin Bieber and Chatroulette are improvements from porn? I think I'll stick with the porn, thanks.

Very nice video. I really liked 2010. It had my life's highest high and lowest low. But all in all, a lot of new experiences and good progress for the coming year.
Oh, and that title was scary!

And the award for worst year ever goes to...

Well, probably not 2010, but it definitely wasn't that great of a year. Hardly anything interesting or noteworthy IMO.

Ugh, chatroulette. So. Much. Penis.

It's like one of those things you look up out of idle curiosity, and then spend the rest of the evening wishing you hadn't.

OK. I'll admit. One of those searches/views for Justin Bieber was me. I mean... I had to know what the big deal was.

Dennis Hopper and Leslie Nielson... loved those two.

Cool video, Google did a good job.

However, I'm shocked that Chatroulette is still even around. It was funny when it was first abused by creepy/funny people, but come on, seriously?

Lets not even talk about Bieber...

and for Halloween, more people were interested in looking like Snooki than anyone else.
Now that is flat out depressing no matter how you slice it.
I guess having Bieber at the top isn't that surprising given all the kids you see around now with smart phones and shit. I mean JESUS, I'm in college and I don't have a smart phone!

.... I'll step off my soapbox now.
