Dead Money Trailer Revealed, New Vegas Patch Completed

Bethesda has unveiled the trailer for Dead Money, the first DLC for Fallout: New Vegas [http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-New-Vegas-Pc/dp/B002SU4QG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1292524260&sr=8-3], and the big New Vegas "comprehensive patch" is finally live across all platforms.

When we first heard about Dead Money back in Wedlock: [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/105373-Dead-Money-DLC-Coming-to-Fallout-New-Vegas] your motivation to rob the casino isn't greed or revenge but an explosive collar around your neck. And don't underestimate the importance of your three partners in crime, either, because as the mysterious man in shadows warns, "If one of you dies, you all die."

Bethesda also announced that the "comprehensive patch" for Fallout: New Vegas went live for the Xbox 360 this morning, meaning that all three versions of the game should now be in a relatively solid state. It's a big fix, covering everything from DLC errors and save game corruption to general issues with crafting, companions, Hardcore mode, perks, skills and a pile of other stuff, plus quest-specific fixes for 41 separate quests. Yes, Fallout: New Vegas was a buggy mess indeed.

A full list of fixes in the latest and greatest Fallout: New Vegas patch can be found at the Bethesda Blog [http://bethblog.com/index.php/2010/12/10/new-vegas-game-update-available-on-playstation-3-will-be-on-xbox-360-steam-next-week/#more-11917]; Dead Money, meanwhile, will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 on December 21, while dates for the PC and PS3 versions have yet to be announced.

Im assuming the voice is that Father Elijah because it was hinted he was heading towards the Sierra Madre. Looks fun however and I hope the next DLC is something to do with the Burned Man.

The trailer shows some promise, but I refuse to buy this DLC until it's on offer at 400MS points or the equivalent on Steam. I want to play as my goddamned character, not some random goon.

Yeah, I hope for a Point Lookout-size/quality DLC featuring the Burned Man.

I swear I picked up the vibe of the Illusive Man from that dude's voice in the trailer. Not only that, but upon seeing the bald character, I was immediately reminded of Jack.

Methinks some similarities can be formed here...

Hmmm, it does seem quite interesting, although I feel another 'stripped of all weapons, now use these things we give you' scenario coming on, which always chaffed with me....

Meh, if/when it comes to PS3 I'll pick it up, for all it's buggy sins, New Vegas is still a metric ton of fun. Gotta reward the bazillionty hours of play.

But I would like to see something about the Burned Man, as stated above. The whole Tribal Village thing with all the burned corpses was such a tease.

Fallout New Vegas is still buggy as hell, the patch they sent out has not at all improved gameplay.. It still freezes every 5 minutes, lags as hell and has many bugs and glitches..

As i've read on Bethesda forums, the game is not fixable at all, there is some cruical errors to the games engines that cannot be fixed by patches.

So the game is to forever be ruined..

Its not so bad until your savegame file reaches about 7 megabytes, after that it is the same old story.. Flocking unplayable!

This patch has not made any big difference AT ALL, it is still SHIT! And it will not and CANNOT be fixed, so dont get your hopes up guys.

EDIT: Also, if you go read on Bethsoft forums, you'll see that moderators have a hard time just keeping up with deleting multiple similar threads about people raging in furious anger and wanting their money back for a game that is completely unplayable..

Hmm, the premise of Dead Money sounds interesting enough, but so did the premise of Mothership Zeta and that was abysmal. I'll sit and wait on this one.

Nice to see the patch has been put out at last. Although I'll have to work on actually wanting to play New Vegas before I download it. I just cannot get into it at all, major game-breaking bugs notwithstanding.

Seriously? That was the same crap that happened on the PS3 version of Fallout 3, but I thought that the 360 and PC versions of it were supposed to be much better.

If all three versions are broken in that matter, it just speaks volumes about how bad Bethesda and Obsidian are as companies. First they release a game they would have to know becomes virtually unplayable the more you do and see in it. And then... They release another game on the same engine with the same damn problems?! If this is true, they are both being added to my "List of Shitty Developers" who I will never buy games from again, and they will go at the very top.

400 MSP = $5.

So does this mean once I finish it I get to play from the ending?

And, the complaints is making me reconsider buying it, but then again, I found no problems with Fallout 3, just a few crashes.

I speak the truth dude.. I bet The developers probably knew this during development, but had to release it anyway no matter what condition to avoid going bankrupt..

But i have also read there that they are making new engines to use in future games...
So we can only hope they are not broken aswell

How does a big patch for the 360 mean that all three versions of the game are fixed? the PS3 sure isn't fixed. That sounds rather stupid.
the PS3 and Steam patches already came out. so they're all 'fixed' now.

Don't they have to work to be called fixed?
hence the quotation marks.

If you're playing this on a PC, is it possible that your computer is actually a tin can full of plastic horses? I barely had any crashes in my 77 hours of gameplay and no significant lag whatsoever. It certainly has bugs, but there's nothing that can't be fixed.

Wow, don't know what game you've been playing...me and all my friends each have 20 to 40 hour saves, sometimes more, and we've had a good experience, perhaps the odd minor glitch here and there, but mostly it's fine.

Anyway, why would they post complaining at Bethsoft? Obsidian are the ones who actually made it...

You're very lucky then. Mine is no tin can, but for a while there was a 50/50 chance of it crashing every time I loaded
