Rumor: Kojima Working On Castlevania Sequel Lords of Shadow

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima seems to be involved in the creation of a Castlevania sequel dubbed Lords of Shadow, if a recent rumor is to be believed.

Developed by Mercury Steam, a company best known for Clive Barker's Jericho, Lords of Shadow has yet to be officially confirmed as a Castlevania follow up, but given the backing of Konami, and the game's undeniable gothic undertones and inclusion of a whip have many nodding their heads and stroking goatees knowingly.

Additionally, Kojima's direct involvement is, for the moment, only rumored [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=216446], though many Castlevania fans would undoubtedly love to see the maestro of stealth action take a crack at the oft-horrid 3-D versions of the long-running vampirophobic series.

Lords of Shadow is currently scheduled to debut on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime during 2010.

Hideo or not, a new Castlevania for major consoles would be awesome. If it's as good as or better than Curse of Darkness, I can't wait. Maybe with Kojima's backing, we can get some decent writing for once. Pffft. Sure.

Castlevania has yet to really work in 3d make it like a hyper detailed HD version of the DS games and a lot of fanboys will be very happy indeed ,also keep the awesome music.
