Amazon Deal of the Day: Tactics Ogre

Amazon's letting you get your tactical RPG on at a pretty substantial discount

Amazon's certainly being good to gamers this week. Yesterday, the site had a pretty substantial discount on some nice headphones; today, it's got the PSP title Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together on sale for $27.99 (down from the regular $40 price tag).

The game was released back in February, so this is pretty much the best price you'll be able to find at the moment. The game is a remake of the original game that was released back in the 90s for the original PlayStation console.

If you are a fan of tactical RPGs but haven't played this game, it's definitely a title you should consider purchasing. Tactics: Ogre has pretty much received <a href=http://www.metacritic.com/game/psp/tactics-ogre-let-us-cling-together>nothing but universal praise from critics. The deal is going on until 2AM PST (or, you know, until Amazon runs out of stock).

Uh Mike it would be good to let us know what platform it is on somewhere in the body of the article. I found it in the amazon link, then saw psp in the tag. But this is kind of vital information for people interested in purchasing the game.

Amazon is amazing. EVERY time I look, there's some amazing offers on display. Most recently I got Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles for 40? (including shipping costs). Demon's Souls alone would have cost me 50 and that's from a local retailer.

As for Tactics Ogre, well I'm not exactly itching to play it right now. Although I heard it's a lot like Final Fantasy Tactics and I love FFT, so I will be on the lookout for now.

I love the Tactic Ogres games. Even have the one for the GBA imported a few years ago. Woulda jumped on this if it was on the DS but it's on the PSP instead :/

I apologize. I just assumed people knew it was a PSP-only title. I've gone back in and added that to the article; thanks for pointing it out :)

What does that name even mean? Tactics Ogre? It's like they took two random words and threw them together.

Is there an ogre that is proficient in the use of various tactics? Are there so many tactics in this game it is comparable to the size of an ogre?

They need to do better. Give me a $20 discount and we'll talk. I'm looking foward to Tactics Ogre, but I have a bit of a backlog of games I already bought on sale for the moment.

Its called tactics ogre because its a sequel to a game called ogre battle on the snes. The name ogre battle comes from the queen soon. Many things in the series are references to queen song titles.
