The Week in Review: Ponies, Griffins, and Zombies

In this week's edition, Pony science gets a dressing down, and maps finally make their entrance in Minecraft.

Dead Island Gets Gameplay Trailer

Techland and Deep Silver have given gamers a rather in depth look at the zombie-tastic Dead Island in a brand new gameplay trailer. The video is more than ten minutes long, and introduces different areas in the game, different types of zombies, and snippets of the game's weapon crafting system. Hit the link to watch it for yourself. (Link [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110291-Hefty-Dead-Island-Walkthrough-Finally-Shows-Off-Gameplay])

"Pony Science Revealed as Faulty" is still rather misleading, since it's pony physics that was revealed as faulty. There were no pony scientists involved.

It's magic, they don't have to explain shit.

I clearly should have put "revealed" between quotation marks.

And I still argue that pegasus mass doesn't behave in the same was as regular pony mass does, what with their ability to walk on clouds.

It's clearly magic again since there is a spell that can do it, but i don't just see why Unicorns don't just put a flying spell on themselves and thus become better than everyone in every way. Why are we arguing about the intricacies of the physics of a universe populated by talking, magical ponies?
The ponies aren't really magical within the context of their universe. There are simply different laws and standards at work. Unicorns have magic, other ponies do not. (Well, except for the obvious goddess of the sun.)

EDIT: And magic has its limitations, as was made evident in "Sonic Rainboom". Twilight Sparkle is supposed to be some sort of prodigy, but she still had a hard enough time just pulling off a flying spell that ended up being by far inferior to a pegasus' capabilities.
