LulzSec Hacks Porn Database, Uncovers .mil And .gov Logins

Who would've guessed that government employees enjoy porn?

Last week was a big week for LulzSec. They hacked Nintendo. They hacked the Sony Computer Entertainment Developer Network. This week is starting off even bigger: The group <a href=http://twitter.com/#!/LulzSec/status/79293937977802752>managed to hack adult website pron.com and nabbed the login information for more than 25,000 accounts. But this isn't the biggest part of the story; instead, the craziest bit is about who LulzSec discovered was logging into the site.

It turns out that a number of accounts on pron.com use .mil and .gov email addresses for login information. Not only that, but it was discovered that 55 administrators and webmasters from other porn websites have accounts with pron.

<a href=http://lulzsecurity.com/releases/pronz.txt>LulzSec has listed all the email/password combinations they plundered over the weekend, and is offering a suggestion for what should be done with this information. Basically, the group is encouraging people to try the login info on Facebook and, if any of it works, to tell all the friends about said account holder's porn membership.

OK, on one hand: People need to learn what is (and what is not) an appropriate use of taxpayer funds. On the other hand? Encouraging the internet to hack people's Facebook accounts and shame them for having an account with an adult website that couldn't keep their information secure is beyond ridiculous. It's petty and spiteful.

Why doesn't anyone track down who and/or where those guys are posting their Twitter tweet things? They can't use a disposable cell phone every time they tweet, no?

What's that line during The Wire after a raid on a brothel?

"If you find something like a client list, flush it - you'll find half the names of all city officials listed there."

I wouldn't be ashamed that people knew I was watching porn, but the fact that people knew I was paying for it. Everybody looks at porn. Smart people know the free sites.

With all the noise Lulzec is making, sooner or later there's gonna be a backslash. I just hope it's them who pays, and not the gamers.

Well isn't that... unexpected. Not in that I didn't expect people working for the government to have accounts on porn sites, just that they'd use a government email address for it. Seems like bad decision making.

What is even wrong with porn? I mean, it's the purpose of internet! Other then watching My Little Ponies episode.

I hope it turns out all the politicians and officials raving about this Weiner BS are spending their job hours on porn sites. That'd be hilarious.

What lulsec hacks is not news. I realize it's tempting to post sensational garbage like this in order to compete with major sites like IGN, but it only encourages egomaniacs to continue their behavior. For the same reason that major news outlets don't air rhetoric from al-Qaeda or other terrorist organizations, pointless grandstanding from cyber terrorists should be ignored as well. To consider yourself a journalist, its helpful to at least demonstrate some semblance of ethical journalism.

Hmm... that does seem rather mean. Sometimes people just have a weakness for boobies. It happens. :p

But I think using your work email is a little stupid. Not that it justifies humiliating them, but that is one of the stupider things to do with your time at work.

Can't say I agree with lulzsec but I understand what they did.

Pretty funny though right?
I find the Escapists' reaction to these things moreso funny tbh. Yeah, this is funny a fair bit, but it gets old eventually. But the reason why it won't get old as quickly as it might've otherwise, however, is because of the Escapists' moral guardians that feel the need to express their support of the rights of elected officials who don't give a shit about them.

Hilarious considering how much this community loves the saying "Stop defending big-time developers, they don't care about you and anything you say will have no impact anyway!" You'd think they could apply it to the news about Lulzsec as well. But ah well - follow that red and white banner on the top of this site, dear moral internet guardians: Get angry!

LOL WUT? It's their job and they earned the money working at it, why are members of the military/government not allowed to look at pronz? They are adults, they can spend their money however they like.

Wow.
LULZsec is apparently made up of prudes.
Who'd woulda guessed?

(Funny story, though, the Captcha below is asking me to use Omega and Delta to verify I'm a real human being.
Seriously, CAPTCHA? Seriously?)

The only sin I see here was in using their work e-mails in order to access a porn site.

A lot of those users have 'password' set as their password so I'm guessing they're either silly or they just use that as their passwords for websites that aren't very important.
