Anyone who bought that mount is a puppet.

I enjoyed how people were logging into today their new $25 mount and being all smug until they realized that these mounts are now more plentiful than mailboxes in Dalaran.Oh, and by all means, keep telling yourself that it wasn't a waste of money just because it was $25, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Hey, buddy, you see that Fiery Warhorse I'm riding? It's an extremely rare mount from Karazhan. Wanna know how much I paid for it? Nothing.
Beside the fact the fiery warhorse looks like crap, the only reason you see so many is everyone showing off. Give it a week and you won't see too many. Enjoy your expansion old mount.

Wow... If I were still playing World of Warcraft and were employed at the same time I would buy this... I just care so little for money.

But when it comes down to it just think what that $25 could get you... A great indie game, an aging classic game, a kick ass steak dinner.

It's kind of sad that I know I'd buy it despite the lack of value.

Cool story bro.

Because nobody who bought this mount bought it because it looks cool, or are mount collectors, or just want something interesting for their alts to run around levelling on. Right?

And besides, I can slap on my Shattered Sun title and AFK in front of the Dalaran bank or over the well on this badass sparkly horse.
I normally do it on my Amani Warbear.

I still play and there's just one question on my mind... Is this a 280% speed increase, or a 310%?

Really people, that makes all the difference.
Depends. If you already have a mount at 310%, it also becomes 310%. If not, it becomes 280% until you get a faster mount.

It's merely another cool lookin' mount.
Damn, those 310% mounts are such pains to get...

This is the kind of crap that reminds us that developers are businesses too. They'll do anything to get our money. Even when I did play WoW I would never drop 25 dollars on anything short of a server transfer.

Blizzard is getting extremely close to crossing that line, pets are one thing, they are just ornaments, but no practical need. Mounts are a functional system. Still brings me a little joy inside that all those people who bought $1000 spectral tigers and the value of those things has instantly plummeted, why have a $1000 spectral that doesn't even fly when you can get a $25 spectral that does.

Will I get one, yeah, and here is my reason: I'm tired of my 310 drake, I want a new 310 and that is either finding a group of raiders that are not a bunch of idiots or paying for one.

But, other 'functional systems' exist in-game. You're not being forced to buy this one.

$25 World of Warcraft Mount Launches on Blizzard Store

According to WoW.com [http://www.wow.com/2010/04/15/queue-for-celestrial-steed-and-lil-xt-is-above-70-000/], the queue for the Celestial Steed has already reached over 80,000 people as of this writing, which calculates to something like $50 billion in profit for Blizzard in less than one day.

$50 billion? Seems like you made a little error there, Tom.

Edit: also, I honestly couldn't care, but it's incredible to see the number of people who were raging at the mounts in trade today. I don't know why everyone was so mad about it, it's just a mount. I didn't buy one because I'm happily riding around on a Rusted Proto-Drake, so I'm not buying a steed any time soon.

I've never been a fan of being able to purchase in-game items.

And unless this thing is really awesome in every way, I consider it to be a tad expensive.

You're right, it's probably closer to $50 zillion.

Does the mount give any major advantage over regular items? If no, then it's a vanity item and Blizz can charge whatever they want for it. Hell, more power to them for finding new ways to make money which doesn't hurt regular players.

Wow seriously wow. MMOs are a brilliant get rich quick scheme if I have ever saw one. So you are paying what 40-60 bucks for the game itself (plus expansions). 15 bucks a month to play it. And charging you 25 bucks for a DLC mount???? Wow.

We gamers are completely boned at this point. This should have been the line. This should have been the point where we said "no more, enough is enough. Get your companies in order, get your budgets under control and stop bleeding us dry." Instead we just keep saying bring it on we'll buy it.

While I don't play the game, I have to say that, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, that thing's awesome-looking and I'd be tempted to buy it. I probably wouldn't, because I'm really, really cheap, but I like it.

Personally I would never buy one, but people can't scream at blizzard for cheating them until they make 25 dollar charge mandatory for something or another.
