As a sidenote.. it's interesting how people hate on the MW2 Stimulus Pack and the Oblivion Horse Armor, yet praises Blizzard for this.

This is bull... microtransactions in a subscription based game? Combining two types of MMO plans into one big money-sucking middle-finger to the loyal customers is just plain greedy!

Screw you Activision and your little *****, Bobby too!

EDIT: considering it's 25 bucks for one damn mount, they should call it "MACROtransactions"

It's sad, if a company like Valve released a whole new set of weapons like pure gold Natasha for the heavy, or liquid nitrogen thrower for the pyro that does nothing apart from cosmetics for even $5 they'd be bashed by tons of people with no support, hell they released like twenty hats for free and we still got complainers, and Blizzard actually makes people pay for what looks like a model for a half-completed mount and people cheer.

It's not the love for Blizzard that saddens me it's the love for something that costs money, lots of cool looking mounts for free no-one gives a shit about. Why don't Blizzard just make it the more money you pay the bigger your character model becomes, $1,000,000 and a gnome will be the size of a 5 foot building, it doesn't affect gameplay so why not.People would honestly raise charity fundraisers and people would pay just to see someone else character become huge-

I've got to stop before my brain clots, this is why valve is my go-to Company of choice, because shit likes this does not happen.

Yay blizzard!

If people will buy this useless crap for 25, ofcourse you do business. Anyone would.

Aslong as SC2 turns out better than SC, then I'm happy. Fund game development at the expense of these mount suckers.

i would only get one if i had a 310% speed on one of my characters, just so all my other characters got the same boost but other than that i would just leave it.

Rofl so this is where all those ugly mounts are coming from. If they want to spend 25$ on something everybody is already tired of then go for it.

Wow... If I were still playing World of Warcraft and were employed at the same time I would buy this... I just care so little for money.

But when it comes down to it just think what that $25 could get you... A great indie game, an aging classic game, a kick ass steak dinner.

It's kind of sad that I know I'd buy it despite the lack of value.
Strange your so easily manipulated by capitolist values given you claim elsewhere your a Liberal.
I can be a capitalist and a liberal :S They are not mutually exclusive, liberals are allowed to own things they like :S

Seems fine to me. They can charge as much as they want for merch of any shape or size...and it's the player's choice to buy it. If it were a 'necessary' item of some kind, like gear, I would be upset yeah...but as it's just frill then people are free to spend money on fun things or ignore it completely.
The mount seems pretty cool, but I don't think I'll bother. Too many other interesting things I'd like to spend $25 on right now. Besides, maybe in the future once they've released a few more items they'll put out a 'bonus package' or something where you can spend $50 and get everything + bonus. I'd do that.
*Yes, I'm the sort of person who waits until an entire movie trilogy is out before buying so I can get them as a packaged deal*

AMAZING, they can get lazy halfway through making an actual mount and just say "Ah fuck it lets make it translucent and give it shiny armor, which we'll just tweak some old armor models for" and rip a trillion people off in a second.
Don't blame them, blame the people that buy this superfluous stuff.

So Blizzard brainwashes people better than IW or Bethesda? :D

Its no more of a shameless money grab than the new "premium membership" deal the escapist is now offering.

I view them both as being one and the same.

When you think about it, the people who got the TCG items probably spent a whole lot more than $25 on their respective mounts.

Edit: Also, that thing looks cool as hell. Kinda want.
For 25 bucks it better give me a blowjob RL on command.

Can see Activisions influence seep into Blizzards WoW...

Was actually thinking of playing WoW again till I saw this, thanks ... saved me wasting money and time. To me what was great about seeing other players running about with fantastic items/mounts/weapons/etc etc at IF was the fact that I too could earn those items if I applied myself, now I can earn items by applying my credit card... wow, gee thanks.

Wont be long before the next set of amour comes at a real money cost too, to save the casual players that cant spend all that time in game earning it of course.
Balls, Bobby Kotick signed his name all over this...

... wonder how WAR is doing these days?
its a vanity item for crying out loud, they will never sell anything beyond vanity items.
