To those still raiding and questing on a daily/hourly basis, is it okay for Blizzard to charge $25 for a special mount, or is it a shameless money grab?
Personally I think it is okay for Blizzard to do it and at the same time I don't care if it's just a shameless money grab.
Since I started reading the official World of Warcraft I've seen countless of people who always complain about Blizzard giving everyone access to the things they had to work for; or complaining about how things aren't special anymore because someone else happens to have it. But I never understood that mentality. I don't really care about the things other people get or how they get, all I care is about the things I have, the things I want and the goals I set to myself.
Now, people might think my comment has nothing to do with this article and the real subject is just about Blizzard becoming leechers, but in reality most people dislike this kind of stuff because:
[ul][li]Their previously achieved feats may pale in comparison with these new toys,[/li]
[li]They're afraid their in-game accomplishments will mean nothing when/if everyone can buy their way to the top,[/li]
[li]People will not look up to them when/if they show off these items,[/li]
[li]All of the above.[/li][/ul]
Many of the people who complain don't really care about the company being greedy nor their fate in the afterlife, their only worry is that they will no longer be the only ones with the cool stuff.
Blizzard may be doing this just for the "evulz" but they're not hurting anyone (egos don't count, do they?). They're providing something for those willing to pay for it without disturbing the game experience of those who don't want or cannot buy these new items. So yeah...
