Unless a portion of the money goes to charity, no thanks. I just wouldn't feel any satisfaction in a purchase like this.

If I had the disposable income for this, I'd buy it.

Think of how much time I'd save not making the gold to buy a mount ever again!

Sadly I don't. So instead I will be watching for this so I know who the rich people are.

The amount of nerdrage about this mount is hilarious. I bought one because frankly, I haven't got anything to spend money on at the minute. People are saying things like "What's next on the Blizzard Store? Tiers? Epics? Legendaries?" and to be honest, that is stupid. This mount doesn't give you an advantage over anybody else. Anybody can buy one.

Which brings up another argument I heard. "Oh its nothing special, everyone will have one so what's the point?". Oh yes. What a shame. I don't have to spend hours of raiding and proving to the rest of the player base that I have a bigger E-Peen to get a cool looking mount. Shame on you Blizzard. Shame on you for doing what a company is supposed to, I.E. Make obscene amounts of money ¬¬

As cool as it looks when you see 12 or 20 of them flying around you it looses it's value (not entirely but it does suffer) in my mind. The harder to get (or insanely rare) the better it is no?

I'm not denying that. It's true, the rarer it is the better it is. Just saying its nice that those of us who don't have the time to raid can get a cool looking mount.

True say, that being said I still would rather try to get a 25 3D OS for the chance at the twilight drake, or go to Zul'Gurub and solo the tiger/raptor boss.

As far as I'm concerned, nobody's being forced to buy this so people can spend (or, in my opinion, waste) their money on what they choose. Good luck to them.

I remember getting the tiger mount for a guildie once. We were all so jealous.

Oh, and the phoenix too. That thing looked BADASS.

But again, I still wouldn't spend real money on the things.

It's a pretty awesome mount, but for $25?

$25 is a lot of money, couldn't you get like an extra 2 months of play time for that?

Oh, it's a money grab by BLizzard, let there be no doubt about that.

However, it's also a well-implemented money grab - you still need to pay for the training with in-game currency, so the actual in-game savings for a player aren't that high. Add in the sheer number of people who will decide it's the best thing since sliced bread, then yeah - it's easy revenue for Blizzard.

I think they may want to slow down the pet releases though. At the rate they are going, they'll be out of companions and mounts before Cataclysm hits.

Now I haven't played WoW since pre-BC, but doesn't making this available to anyone make it slightingly cheap to people who went through all the work to get a 310 speed mount?
It only becomes a 310 speed mount if you already have a 310 speed mount.

If you don't have a 310% speed mount then it's a 280% or a 150% or a 100$ or a 60% speed mount.

You do NOT get an advantage over anyone else by buying this. By getting this you don't avoid having to pay for raiding training, or going through the work to get a 310% mount.

The speed of the steed changes varying on what your riding training is, and if you have a 310% speed mount.
Thank you sir for the clarification, it seems like a groovy product if you care enough to buy it.

Maybe I'm one of the few, but I really don't like how it looks. I mean it's kinda cool, but it's not 25 dollars cool. Besides, it won't really affect anything and if I did get it I know I'd use it for a week or so, and forget it. Besides, my lil' ROFLcopter is still the best!

Well, regardless, it's not like its some horrible greedy thing. Don't want/need it? Don't buy it. Simple as that. I for one will be paying for one ASAP, better than spending $1000 on a spectral tiger (Yes, that is what they go for on ebay).
I thought the tiger went down in price to something not completely outrageous. Also just to clarify to those who don't know, that tiger used to be 10k+. May have been 25 at one point but I can't be sure. Also about the griffin, I believe there is a difference between gold and dollars. Perhaps you grinded for hours for that gold but I think typing at a keyboard for world of warcraft of all games to farm? Perhaps some raiding would take considerable skill and execution but farming is just making sure you don't die and they do. I put a lot more value on what I work for in real life to what I work for in WoW.

OT: Awesome looking, but as I mentioned before, everybody and their mother has one so why do I want it? Also 25 dollars is best spent elsewhere.
There is a difference between gold and dollars. What I was talking about was the "controversy" of being able to use real world money to gain a virtual advantage and how that doesn't apply to this situation.

Both the gryphon and the celestial mount require a riding skill. Let's assume epic riding skill. Therefore, you have to gather the 5000 gold regardless. After the training, you can buy this mount for 25 dollars, or you can gather 200 gold, which takes less than an hour.

Also, I take a bit of issue with the whole "everyone has one so what's so great about it?" stance. It's your opinion and so I can't say that its wrong, but I get enjoyment of my WoW-aesthetics from my own perception, not how cool and enviable I look to all the newbies and people less "skilled" than I. In short, I don't need to be unique to think I look cool, and I don't frankly care what other players think about which mount I ride.
