You Don't Know Jack About Wedding Proposals

Noooo, wedding proposals aren't funny at all. Honest.

Wedding proposals can be tricky to arrange. You want to be romantic, sure, but how to strike the right tone? Mess this one up and it could be a lonely future for you, so John was taking a little bit of a gamble when he got Cookie Masterson involved. Nobody knows how Cookie, the host of Facebook trivia quiz show You Don't Know Jack, was persuaded to do his part, but I suspect cupcakes may have been involved. Lots and lots of cupcakes.

Thankfully she said Yes. Presumably Cookie recorded something else to say if she pressed any of the other buttons but, luckily for John, Kara didn't fumble at the critical moment. I mean, what do you say to the poor soul? "Whoops?" "Hide the sharp implements?" "No cupcake refunds?"

It's no joke; You Don't Know Jack confirmed via Twitter that this is the real deal. All the best to the happy pair, and congrats to Cookie for doing his part. "I've never come across a couple who met on a trip to a Steampunk Renaissance Fair, and didn't live happily ever after," was his parting remark. You know what? Neither have I.

Meh. It kinda sucks.

Portal 2 proposal is still better. And that proposal in the theater in a form of a movie trailer raised the bar for all men who will ever attempt to propose til the end of time.

That was pretty clever, although I now want to know what would have played if the other options were chosen.

Still I think the best public/online proposal was done on the Escapist's very own LoadingReadyRun

Off topic- Is there a way to embed Escapist videos into the forum? I tried copy/pasting the code from the video you get from clicking "Embed" but that doesn't seem to work.

Aww, I always love these types of proposals. The inner romantic in me always feels better afterwards.

Ahhh, sweet affirmation that YDKJ is, and always will be, the pinnacle of trivia. I mean, it wouldn't really have worked on Jeopardy, would it?
