EVO2K9 Montage Depicts Two Decades Of Ryu
Since Street Fighter first appeared in 1987, series mainstay Ryu has been synonymous with the fighting game genre. A montage created for the recent EVO2K9 tournament demonstrates why.
Created by Street Fighter fan "Majestros," the video contains some particularly insane combination attacks from throughout the history of the series. Not content to feature just the Street Fighter games, Majestros includes footage from spin-off titles ranging from X-men Vs Street Fighter to SNK Vs Capcom: SVC Chaos.
While combo videos are nothing new, what's particularly impressive about this effort is how seamlessly each segment segues into the next. According to GameSetWatch [http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2009/07/most_impressive_ryu_footage_ou.php], the clip had been in production for nearly 10 months prior to its debut at EVO2K9.
