Idaho Couple Weds In Katamari Ceremony

As if expressing eternal devotion to one another wasn't enough, recently married Idaho couple Aidra Frazier and Ernest Leitch also used their nuptials to extol affection for the quirky world of Katamari Damacy.

Much to the glee and dismay of the internet's gathered masses, the entire ceremony was captured for posterity in a strikingly clear slideshow of images [http://www.ksweddings.com/aidra_ernest/]. Everything from the wedding party's theme-appropriate headgear to the Katamari ring cushion is now frozen in time for the couple to reflect back on well into their golden years.

Of course, this also means that the confused, near-irate expressions on some of the wedding guests are also on display. You can almost hear some of the older generation pictured at the ceremony gritting their false teeth and wondering why they even bothered winning World War II if this was the sort of future their spawn would envision.

More importantly though, the bride and groom seem to be enjoying themselves amidst the festivities, and in the end, isn't that what true love is all about? It just isn't a wedding without the happy couple telling a group of assembled friends and family to figuratively "go screw themselves" in a hail of brightly colored Namco Bandai gaming icons.

My brain is broken, but at least their nerdy wedding looks tasteful.

I have to admit. When I read the title I didn't picture a woman even remotely good looking.

Scary. Watched the slideshow. Stuff of horrors. Atleast they're happy.

Even that small girl in one of the pictures looked scared and confused.

Also, I don't think I would go to a wedding like this... I'd think it was some kind of dumb joke.

I wonder how the couple's parents reacted to this?
I dunno about you, but if my kids did that, they can kiss their sorry asses out of my will. What the hell is Katamari anyway!?

Looks better than some of that really lavish bridezilla crap you see.
My wife and I love the Katamari games too. But not that much.

Don't let them play tennis.

Also I can't help but approve wholeheartedly, weddings are already incredibly silly, and i'd rather attend that than a traditional one, even if I didn't know what Katamari was.

I can't help but wonder if the disgusted looks on the faces of the guests had less to do with the Katamari theme and more to do with it being an interracial marriage. This is Middle of Nowhere, Idaho we're talking about...when Ian Johnson (the Boise State football player) married the white cheerleader a couple of years ago he got death threats sent to his house---and he's only one of the most renowned football players in the history of Boise State athletics. And that was Boise, Idaho's largest city. This wedding happened in Buhl, a town of about 4,000 people on the Oregon Trail (speaking of games that would make interesting wedding themes), in literally the middle of nowhere---it's miles from the next populated area (according to Wikipedia). Also of note, the Twin Falls "Micropolitan Statistical Area" is 0.20% African-American.

I still say the best wedding is a courthouse ceremony with the legally required two witnesses. Mine cost a grand total of $105 and took less than an hour to plan and two hours to execute.

You wouldn't celebrate your friend's wedding because you thought the theme was goofy? Really? That's just a horrible shame.

Really.... who the hell cares? The ceremony isn't for the guest, it's for the people getting married. It's to make THEM happy, nobody else.I don't see why people would disapprove of a certain wedding theme.

If you don't approve of a certain type of ceremony, either suck it up or fuck off.

o.o you're right, unfortunately.

This makes me not entirely hate the state I live in... but why wasn't this on the news? Come on, it's IDAHO, there isn't much better to report on here :D
