Superman Wants to Be in Warcraft Movie

Apparently, Superman likes Warcraft. Brandon Routh - who played the Man of Steel in 2006's Superman Returns - says he's a huge fan of the series, and would love to be in the upcoming film.

One of the big announcements out of this year's San Diego Comic-Con was the pick of legendary cult horror director would be playing [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93330-Sam-Raimi-Set-to-Direct-Warcraft-Movie].

But as it turns out, Campbell wasn't the only potential Warcraft cast member at Comic-Con. Speaking with this shirt [http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/07/31/superman-is-a-huge-warcraft-nerd-wants-to-be-in-movie-video/], too.

Routh expressed admiration for the Blizzard team behind the franchise, as well as great respect for the folks tapped to helm the upcoming film - not just director Raimi, but the production team at Legendary Pictures. When asked if he was hoping to see a call for the Warcraft picture, Routh admitted that he thought getting "a little action... a little swordfighting" would be "a lot of fun."

Since we already determined that Bruce Campbell might be best suited as a Goblin or Dwarven Rifleman (complete with Boomstick), let's take a crack at young Mr. Routh here. Routh is best known for his portrayal of Clark "Superman" Kent in 2006's reboot of the Superman franchise [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348150/]. Though not as well-received as some superhero franchise reboots (see Dark Knight, The), Superman Returns had a generally positive reception.

Routh definitely has the whole "hero" look going on - I mean come on, the guy was Kal-El. He's a good guy, no questioning that - I'm gonna go ahead and call him as a Paladin, fighting the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the Azerothian Way.

He might not be the Man of Steel anymore, but now he'll have a bubble-hearth. Same thing, right?

In other news, Paladins will be getting X-ray vision (raises Crit chance) and Flight.

I've never wondered what Superman would pick as a class.

He was wearing that shirt? And likes Warcraft? Seriously? That's cool. Well, uncool, but that's what makes it cool.

Okay, forget Ryan Reynolds. I have found a new celebrity crush.

If I say I'm a big fan, can I be in the movie too?
You know what would be funny? If they cast him in the movie, then give him two lines and kill him off a minute into the film.

Oh the laughs viewers will have at his expense....

Of course he wants to be in the movie, otherwise his career is completely over, since that superman movie bombed BAD, big mistake to continue the story of the 1980's Superman movies.

Yes I'm sure medieval warriors of war torn kingdoms looked like Calvin Klein models with spray tans and $50 haircuts.

Is the video not working for anyone else?
All I've got so far is two ads for dance flick and blackberry mobile phones...

Although, just reading the atricle has got me interest enough, I mean Brandon Routh is big enough to play a typical human in the Warcraft Universe.
But chances are they'll make him a Blood Elf...

Prince Arthas Menethil says 'Hi'.

Well, you know, before the whole Lich-Kingification thing.

Besides, he could be playing a diplomat rather than a warrior, in which case he could look like a model. Looking at him, he'd probably make a pretty good Victor Nefarious or Daval Prestor (Black Dragon's Nefarian and Deathwing respectively).

I'm sure there's a part for him to play if you look deep enough, or make a whole new character up (gasp shock ;O)

But chances are they'll make him a Blood Elf...
Or that. If it's still set between WC3 and WoW, Kael'thas hasn't shoved a giant crystal in his chest, so there is that.

can anyone name a succesful film made from a videogame? just a thought.
Tomb Raider.
