Alan Wake Studio Teases Quantum Break For Xbox One

Remedy Entertainment CEO Matias Myllyrinne says Quantum Break could be the "biggest entertainment undertaking" in Finnish history.

The trailer for Quantum Break is a strange thing, which isn't entirely surprising given that it comes from Remedy, a studio not exactly known for telling the most straightforward stories. Even so, it's not really clear what we can expect from the thing, except that it will be a "revolutionary entertainment experience that blurs the line between gameplay and television." Got it? No? Watch the video.

Got it now? Yeah, neither do I, but I have some faith that it will at least be worth some attention. Remedy's games may not always be blockbuster smash hits, but they tell intriguing stories and takes chances that other studios would be more likely to take a pass on. So maybe Quantum Break will be really good - and maybe it'll finally be the breakout title Remedy deserves.

This is the only new IP revealed, and only one of two games that weren't sports games. The other game was Call of Duty.

Innovation!

Though to be fair, I am interested in this. It sounds pretty cool.

To be fair, little girls who create videogames by touching peoples' ears is pretty innovative.

Well, it's Remedy so it's already got my interest - and may well have been the only thing in the conference that did besides CoD dog.

I did enjoy Alan Wake, so this could be good. And I for one welcome a return to FMV games.

From the awfully small amount of information we get, it seems like some shooter with bullet-time.
Revolutionary.

So we're looking at non-noir Max Payne 2.0? Well, I'll be looking forward to this on the P...err, XO.

Looks time based, given that it seemed the boat was travelled forward in time. So, this could be good if the game is on that type of scale. Or will it be like ME2, when you see Jack going mental with her powers, yet in the game you couldnt be that crazy. So with this game, will there be scenery destruction? Pulling down buildings or forwarding cars in enemies? Who knows, guess its a wait and see at E3. :)

Or at least create CGI cut scenes... putting CGI animators out of business!

New this fall, Bruce Willis must protect a little girl from the outrage of a team of elite computer graphic artists in... MERCURY RENDERING!

I thought they shuttered most of Remedy after Alan Wake failed to bring "the big crowds"?

I like what I see, heavy narrative basis etc. I'm a fan of the "entertainment experience that blurs the line between gameplay and television." that Alan Wake was, I hope this will be an equally cool hybrid "game with movie-like narrative". /crosses fingers and hopes for the best.

Looks like it could be pretty interesting. It seems like either the little girl can either see these events as they happen, before they happen, or could be the one causing them. Hopefully unlike Alan Wake they don't wait almost two years to bring it to PC.

to bad it's gonna be on the Xbone. I'll only be able to get this if it comes out on the PC, which i really hope it does because i love Remedy.
