It's a Nice Day for A Red Wedding

That's a nice cast you've got there ... it'd be a shame if something happened to them.

Honestly probably the best episode of the series so far. As a non reader I saw most of the other major events, or at least wasn't particularly shocked by them but this one got me.

I don't watch the show nor have I read the books so this doesn't mean much to me, but that face in the last panel is truly terrifying.

Having watched the reaction videos since last Sunday I can certainly appreciate the appeal of this. So many feels, so many tears, they taste so delicious!

Really? I thought this was pretty well foreshadowed.

Neither my partner or I read any of the books, but Robb's death seemed guaranteed the moment he broke his oath to Frey. He never seemed to have much of a shot at winning the conflict, but having to go crawling back to Frey seemed doomed to failure.

I was a bit surprised it was done as it was though. I was expecting them to just be lured into an ambush, but I guess since Game of Thrones is less about battle and more about drama and politics, I should've anticipated it sooner.

What am I missing?
She watching the reaction, not the TV. I think.

This was known amongst fans of the books to be an absolutely mortifying event, such that it was a common event for anyone reading the book to throw it across the room in anger. So, with a whole lot of people knowing exactly what was coming, you get videos like the following (Potential spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched the show/read the books).

And very unspoilery it was. I've not seen the latest episode yet, because I'm waiting for ten to come out so I can watch them together. I get that something big happens, but I'm still sticking by my principles and waiting (that's what she said).

I don't think you're missing anything. I think the point is that it's typically unfunny because they can't go into depth for fear of spoiling the episode, a stance that I find commendable, considering that it came out not yet a week ago.

The latest episode has a very unexpected plot moment, one that practically nobody could see coming. There has been a video uploaded on Youtube of peoples reactions to the episode, where they have been filmed by those who have read the books, so know what happens.

Some of them are very funny.

Answered above, it's about how amusing peoples reactions are to the episode, to those who read the books and knew what was going to happen.

I feel bad for taking such joy in the reactions of those who haven't read the books. But I've known, I've always known. I've known it's coming and had to sit through all the idealistic hopeful wishes of those who didn't know. All I could think was "You poor soul, you have no idea what is about to happen."

Gee, thanks for the accidental portrait!

Yeah, that episode was entertaining on several levels of my existence. My methodology involved showing the YouTube reaction shot video compilation and a discussion... with those that weren't all up in emotions and tears and vomiting. I had trouble not letting my inward chuckle burst out of me, ruining otherwise pleasant relationships.

Must be one hell of a plot twist. Although I find it rather sad that these people are finding more entertainment from watching people's reactions to the show than from actually watching the show.

Having someone who read the books by you during the first watching of the episode. Everyone who read up to the third book saw this coming and they knew the reaction to it would be strong. So people who read the books were more interested (myself included) in other people's reactions than what was happening. Up to the point that they would watch the reactions instead of the show at that point.
