Wind Waker HD Getting Collector's Edition Strategy Guide

Prima Games is releasing an official collector's edition of its Wind Waker HD guide, complete with gilded pages and a cloth map of the Great Sea.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD earned a lot of attention when <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/121662-The-Legend-of-Zelda-The-Wind-Waker-Remake-Headed-to-Wii-U>it was announced. Giving a shinier sheet of paint to an already gorgeous game, it looked to be exactly the sort of re-release that fans of a franchise love to receive. Now, in an attempt to deliver unto the world another bit of shiny memorabilia, Prima Games has announced that it will be releasing a collectible edition of its strategy guide to go alongside Wind Waker HD.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Collector's Edition Official Game Guide, in addition to being a mouthful, will be hardcover and feature gilded pages to make it look all snazzy. Included among its contents will also be a nifty cloth map of the Great Sea. It will, of course, also feature the requisite contents you'd expect from a game guide; boss strategies, puzzle solutions and hidden item locations, among other helpful hints. While Prima has yet to confirm a release date for the Collector's Edition, Amazon has listed the book for pre-order at a moderate <a href=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0804161305/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0804161305&linkCode=as2&tag=nintendoeverything-20>$35.99. The standard paperback edition is also available for $24.99.

Overall, the Collector's Edition looks like a nice package. Nonetheless, we have to admit that, in this day and age, it's arguably becoming harder and harder to justify spending money on walkthroughs when most of the same information can be found online for free. Prima's Wind Waker guide still manages to be an enticing package though, if only because it would look lovely on a shelf next to our copy of <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/120809-Hyrule-Historia-Gets-Limited-Collectors-Edition>Hyrule Historia.

Eh, to me this is useless, especially for an old game we've probably all beaten several times. I preferred the extra's I got with the original on the Gamecube. Ocarina of Time: Master Quest anyone?

Captcha: background noise. Hahaha, fuck you

I've been itching to play some old gamecube games lately (been laying Sonic Aventure 2, Pokemon Colosseum and Lost Kingdoms 1&2)

I wanted to get the windwaker/OOT double pack and there retailing for like £100 in some places....Damn I should have kept my copy!

As I've beaten Wind Waker before, I don't really need the strategy guide (and of course, strategy guides are kind of moot in the days of the internet) but I have to admit I'm really very tempted by this. That guide does look rather nice, and I am a bit of a sucker for this nifty collectible edition stuff for games I love.

Oh lord, tell me about. That gold case edition of Wind Waker is way too expensive these days. I managed to get massively lucky and found a copy of it in a second-hand electronics store for a tenner and the cashier looked totally bemused by how excited I was to find it for that cheap.

holy fuck, 25 or 36 dollars?!?!

jesus christ, hellll nawwwww, i could just go online and get a walkthrough for free (that is probably better too). Looks nice, but fuckin hell, 36 dollars can buy 3-4 games on steam or GoG, not wasting it on a bloody shiny strategy guide.

Sorry, Prima. Only one encounter has ever made me buy a strategy guide, and Wind Waker has nothing to compare to Wiegraf Folles.

I'd buy it for the looks but these days money is short enough that it's becoming hard to buy games themselves. Besides the last few strategy guides I've bought didn't help me as much as an FAQ on gamefaqs has.

I do prefer having a strategy guide over going online cuz I don't like turning on my slow computer and it is nice to have a book close to you instead of having the computer turned on as well.

I don't need the strategy guide at all. But I do like to buy books that look nice on a shelf, so this is pretty much sold for me.

P.S. Thanks

Have faith, it will come, eventually.

OT: I already have the original Nintendo Power guide so I probably won't get this, even if the inner Zelda collector in me is screaming for me to buy it. It does not help I know Wind Waker inside out, so the last thing I need for HD is another players guide.
