Killzone: Shadow Fall Story Trailer Reveals Trouble On the Home Front

I'm beginning to suspect that something is rotten on the planet of Vekta.

I'm not terribly familiar with the events of the Killzone trilogy but as I understand it, the evil Helghast - subtle name there, by the way - started some trouble and things were looking pretty dicey for awhile but then somebody dropped the hammer on them and that was pretty much that. In Killzone: Shadow Fall, set 30 years down the road from Killzone 3, the Helghast homeworld remains a blasted wasteland and refugees from the planet are resettling on Vekta, segregated from the native population by a giant wall.

That's naturally a bit of a tense situation, as some people apparently don't like the idea of living next door to other people who not so long ago were trying to wipe them from existence - and some of those people might possibly want to take advantage of those tensions to further their own aims, and perhaps push that understandably-jumpy populace into doing something rash and regrettable to the newcomers. "The right to defend ourselves against foreign aggressors, by whatever means necessary" does sound a tad ominous, after all, especially when it's delivered in that special, "I am crazy and looking for trouble" tone.

Killzone: Shadow Fall [http://us.playstation.com/ps4/games/kill-zone-ps4.html] comes out on November 15, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

You'd think by the end of the third war with a relentless fascist group called the Helghast the ISA have figured out that if they're going to do genocide they may as well do it properly. I mean, the first game is set during the second invasion of Vekta, the second/third during the next war/counter invasion years later. The Helghast seemingly can't help but hate everything that isn't endowed with glowing red eyes.

But nope, lets put millions of them back onto our home world and then lets leave them to it, what can possibly go wrong? Great job guys! Then again, when you're government have named themselves The Individual Savings Account perhaps military strategy isn't going to be their strong point.

Having said that, Killzone 4: Systematic Orbital Bombardment doesn't sound like much of a videogame.

The ISA is like NATO if it was run by chimpanzees. Completely useless. It's hard not to feel sympathetic to the Helghast when the Earthlings kicked them off of Vekta for having the nerve to tax ships passing through their star system.

Nice to see that the Visari's are still going to be involved in the series. While Scholar Visari is dead for sure now, it's neat that his daughter is just as batshit crazy as him.

I'm actually getting the feeling that Lady Visari is a relative moderate, trying to make the best of a outrageously shitty situation
Hopefully this game goes into some detail about what happened to Sev and Rico. Preferably a slow execution

Sev and Rico are war criminals, plain and simple. They irradiated an entire planet.
