Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Gets a March Release Date

The first Diablo III expansion, Reaper of Souls, just looted a March 25, 2014 release date.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls will be available March 25, 2014, Blizzard announced today on two new modes [http://us.battle.net//d3/en/blog/11867681], and a long list of new loot, abilities and other fun stuff to keep players focused on their never-ending quest for loot.

Now before you run out and pre-order it, you should know: There are a surprisingly large number of editions for Reaper of Souls, considering it's an expansion. The standard pack will run players $39.99, a more eager Diablo fan might be interested in the $59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition that includes the game, three additional character slots and a bunch of digital goodies, including in-game content like minions, a treasure goblin pet and decals for StarCraft 2. Players can pre-order Reaper of Souls starting today for both PC and Mac.

For extremely zealous Diablo III players, the one who hasn't played anything else all year, there's a "retail-exclusive" Collector's Edition: For taking the time to leave the house - and $79.99 - players get a hardcover art book, a mousepad and a behind-the-scenes Blu-Ray/DVD set. (They throw in all the extra stuff from Digital Deluxe Edition, too.)

Blizzard is currently running a closed beta for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, which began earlier this month.

From what I've read, they've added a lot of stuff in this expansion that players have been asking for.

There's still gonna be around 3 posts on the first page asking sarcastically if there's an offline mode yet.

At this point, we really should know better.
Blizzard threw up the middle finger to PC gamers and that's that. Nothing to ask, even sarcastically.

So I haven't been paying close attention. Are the "Loot 2.0" fixes going into effect with that expansion? Or was that already done. I stopped playing because it was pointless to keep going until that was fixed in my opinion.

Loot 2.0 was in a free patch, among other things.

I'm torn. I genuinely like the game in spite of its flaws, but haven't really touched it as of late because of the apparent imbalance of the late game, and the fact that my account was hacked and irreversibly filled with millions of gold that I have no real interest in using. (First world problems.)

I am thinking about just getting the console version of the base game and this whenever it does happen to come out.

39.99 for a standard edition huh... i might have bought it if they asked for maybe 10 or something but 39,99 for a an expansion is kinda to much...

Seems about standard to me, but maybe that's because i'm in Australia. Which now that i think about it, probably means the expansion will be about $60 here. Which is yeah, a bit much.

There seems to be a bit of confusion lately between where does DLC stop and expansion pack begin... one of those grey areas that companies love to exploit financially.

Blizzard has always charged 40 for an expansion, nothing's changed in reality nor were new "strategies" adapted here.

OT:
I'll probably be playing it, although it's not a guaranteed thing. I have to purchase the base-game still since there were some shenanigans with the first time I played it. I might share with a friend's account, also. We'll see Blizzard.

WE'LL SEE.

Super excited. Paladins were fun in D2 and I'm hoping the crusader will be like that, not to mention that all the other changes coming sound amazing.

Hmm Still Always On required for single player.. PASS...
There we go! Had to be at least one

On topic: I've been playing the PTR version of the game with the Loot 2.0 and class changes...

It's fantastic! Ever since they got rid of Jay Wilson, there's been nothing but good news coming from Diablo

Everyone always says "Diablo 2 was sooooo much better", but Diablo 2 was only really good after Lord of Destruction. It looks like Diablo 3 is looking to do the same thing with Reaper of Souls

Looking forward to play the expansion, but I think releasing it in March might hurt their sales, since it's in the same month as Dark Souls 2, Titanfall and South Park as far as I can recall.

Yuup! PTR is great. Loot is worth looking at now. I got a legendary pair of pants that proc'd a toxic fart. I ain't kidding.
