Pizza Hut Xbox 360 App Cooks Up More Than $1 Million in Pizza Sales

In just four months, Pizza Hut has already surpassed $1 million in sales via the Xbox 360's "Pizza Hut" app.

Remember when Pizza Hut launched a dedicated app for the Xbox 360 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/123466-Xbox-Live-Pizza-Hut-App-Out-Now] last year? Well, it seems that was a smart move by the pizza chain, as it has now sold over $1 million in pizzas through its Xbox 360 app in just four months.

Speaking to Polygon [http://www.polygon.com/2014/1/8/5289704/pizza-hut-sold-1-million-dollars-in-pizzas-on-xbox-360-in-four-months], Pizza Hut director of public relations Doug Terfehr states, "It's been a source of unbelievable growth for us," and adds, "Just the explosion of people who wanted to download it, experiment with it, play with it with Kinect. As soon as we did one, everyone was contacting us to do the next [one]."

So, does this mean Pizza Hut will be expanding to other videogame platforms soon? Pizza Hut reps wouldn't say when asked, but did reveal, "Conversations continue to be ongoing with us. Wherever you are, we want to be."

Are you one of the many Xbox Live users who ordered pizza via the Xbox 360 app? If so, how was it and would you want a Pizza Hut app for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, too?

Know thy market I guess...

Coming from a cooking position at a Pizza Hut, I know I can't eat them anymore.

I really like the app. It's been helpful when I've had guests over. It offers some good deals and is fairly straightforward to use. Only problem so far? You can only pay with cash.
They have a payment option button, but "Cash" is the only thing listed. Why can't you take more of my plastic money!?

I think if you go to your profile within the app you can link a credit card. I skipped it because I don't like having my info saved like that.

(I could be wrong, but I think I remember the option. Or I could be better than wrong, and just be crazy.)
